I bought these to let me add, remove, or move my dogs tags as I desired. The tags went on fine but when I tried to clip them to the collar ring the clip didn't fit. That arm could not close to lock. This was on a large leather collar so I wasn't very surprised. However, I next tried a much smaller collar with a very standard ring that it also did not fit (see pics). I ended up finding I could clip it to the adjustment square but that not what I was looking for. Looks like I need to add a ring to each collar ring that I can clip these to, but that's not what I wanted.The clip themselves are very nice and seem well made. They clip easily....on what they'll fit.

I'm going broke trying to find a small quick release gadget to change out my dogs' tags from one collar to another. I need secure, ease, and not too long and a ring for the tags that is small but sturdy.Pro:* PERFECT size for my 20lb welshies with 12" becks and their 3/4" wide collars. Smaller than a quarter!* stainless steel and is a good weight* pretty* the ring for the tags is small and appears pretty durable.CONS:* See photo: where the latch rests on the hook, it is smooth and has no meaningful "notch" to secure it.

These work perfectly. We have 3 dogs and I like to change out collars. These make it easy to do once you get the tag onto the split ring. The clip part is large enough to clip onto the D rings for our bigger dog's D ring without any issues, but the entire unit is small enough so that the ID tag does not hang too low. We have a little 20 lb shorty jack who is low to the ground and the size is great for her as well. Highly recommended.

My dog swims in the ocean a lot!! All snap rings we have tried RUST. This rubs off on collars and stains my dog. This product seems to be rust free. Also, my dog has several personalized dog tags. These clips make it easy to change them out. Very happy with this product.

We use 3 different collars for our dog depending upon what we are doing. We have a Labrador Retriever who needs a large collar (18 - 26 in). We wanted a clip that would not let the tags dangle enough to get caught on anything during walks or on the dog's toenails when he scratches. We also noticed comments from people who said these clips we're too small to go onto a large D ring on a larger collar.When the clips arrived, they were large enough to go onto the small ring on one collar that is devoted to just tags, but they didn't fit onto the D ring on the swimming collar that has just one ring for both the tags and the leash.We solved the problem by using 2 small key rings fastened permanently onto the D ring, and we snap the clips onto those. Works beautifully, and the tags still do not dangle too low as they would with a larger clip.UPDATE as of 4/11/19We have had these clips for just 2 months. Our one concern was that they might open and come off the collar, and now one of them has. We love the fact that they make it easy for us to change the tags from one collar to another, but perhaps they shouldn't be this easy! That said, the plus is that obviously the dog got the tag he lost caught on something, and if the clip hadn't released, he could have been hurt. The minus is that the clip did open, and now the tag has been lost. I suppose better losing a tag that can be replaced than having the dog hurt.

My dogs constantly tore off any tags I tried to place on them. These are the only clips that I've found that actually work.

Really love this concept but there’s room for improvement. Don’t clip this to the same ring as you clip your dog’s leash or you could end up losing it. My Lab’s tags came off at the dog wash when clipped to the wall leash. Fortunately I noticed and we found them in the tub. But yesterday while hiking I realized my Rottweiler’s tags were gone - Rabies tag, County license and new I.D. tag. He had been on and off leash throughout the hike; the Pet Tag Quick Clip must’ve been unintentionally unclipped at some point. TheI think if the top of the clip extended down and perhaps had a groove in it that the latch could rest in it would be more secure. The quality of the material is excellent but I only gave one star as the flawed design makes it too easy to lose.

I will be returning the clips. These clips are TINY and don't even fit over the D-ring on my dog's collar! The main reason I ordered them was so I could change out my dog's tags from one collar to another. My big boy weighs 95 lbs. I don't understand why this company makes such small clips that don't even fit on a thick D-ring. Almost all big dogs I see in the parks close to me have approximately 1" collars. They have thick D-rings. Makes me wonder if these folks are aware of the different sizes of dog collars. Good for small dog collars - not large dogs.

Does the job

Using for dog tags to attach to collars and harnesses. It's so easy to attach and unattach. Big enough but not too big to get in the way. Will buy again!
