Product Information: Charging Your Screwdriver: The battery in your driver is not fully charges at the time of purchase. Before attempting to charge the battery read thoroughly all of the following instructions: 1. Remove any accessories from the bit holder 2. Make sure the mains charger is disconnected from the power supply. The battery is built into the screwdriver. Plug the screwdriver into the charger. 3. During charging, the charger and the battery may feel warm to the touch, this is quite normal 4. Leave the battery in this condition for at least 5 hours. After 5-7 hours, the battery is fully charged. 5. Disconnect the power supply before removing the battery from the charger. 6. NOTE: The batteries first charge should be 5 hours prior to using the drill. The Battery 1. To prolong the battery life, avoid leaving the battery on charge for longer than 7-9 hours. 2. Overcharging is not a safety concern, but it can significantly reduce the life span of your battery. 3. Between charges rest the charger for at least 15 minutes. 4. In an extremely warm environment or after heavy use the battery pack may become too hot to permit charging. Allow time for the battery to cool before recharging. 5. When the battery is charged for the first time and after prolonged storage the battery may only accept an approximate 60% charge. However after several charges and discharge cycles the battery will accept a 100% charge.
