Works like my original Sony.
I really like this MP3 player. I used to have a Sony that worked amazingly and then it just died. I bought another Sony that was supposed to be the same as the old one. Unfortunately Sony cut corners and the new one is plastic with less features. When I saw this MP3 I decide to give it a try. When it arrived and I opened the box I was surprised of all the items that came with it. The arm band, male to male adapter for the car, charger and headphones. All the items for $37 dollars is a steal. The MP3 is better than my Sony because it has Bluetooth connectivity, and card slot, it is sturdy, has a nice speaker (not that great but is a nice feature), and it comes with the same features my old Sony used to have. Battery life is good and the sound quality is good (not great). The only complaint is that it appears that I got a returned unit. How do I know this, the buttons appear worn in already. When I touch the screen some of the buttons are already worn and you can see it by the shine on the buttons. There is a difference with the other buttons as the less used buttons still look opaque instead of shinny. For that reason alone I gave it a 4 star. If I would have gotten a new unit it would be 5 stars.Update: The seller contacted me to let me know about the protection film on the face of my MP3 player. I had not seen it since it was perfectly fitted. The one in the back was easily seen. When I took out the film the unit looks new and unused. I originally gave it 4 stars but I am revising my review due to my oversight. Great little unit and I am truly enjoying listening to it. Very happy indeed.

Exactly what I was looking for!
I run a LOT of role-playing games, and as such, I have a number of playlists I cycle through in the course of a game. Recently, I bought a few different actual MP3 players to save battery and data on my phone & tablet. So many MP3 players nowadays do not support playlists - this one, however, with a bit of a learning curve, does exactly what I wanted. It has three playlists that you can customize directly from the device itself; HOWEVER, I recommend just putting your music files in a folder that you label in your File Explorer, (i.e.: "Creepy Cavern") then copy the whole folder to the MP3 player. The MP3 player handles playing songs by folder - make certain that, while you are playing a song, hit the menu button, and go into play modes, activate folder loop and shuffle - then you are good to go! (Caution: If you choose "repeat" instead of "folder loop," you may be surprised by a Gnomish Celebration song while your adventurers are sneaking through Creepy Caverns.) 😁 Battery lasted long after a 9 hour game!TL;DR: This is a great device, great sound quality either connected through Bluetooth or cable, and is particularly versatile with a little bit of time spent planning, and learning the interface. I couldn't be happier with it! Thank you!

Good sound. Customizable eq. Built in speaker.
Just to be clear, as several commenters have provided the wrong info. This device DOES have a built in speaker. You can set your alarm to the music you want played. This unit plays amv video format if you want to watch a video. However, the screen is tiny, even smaller than the Sony NWZ -e464 series. It has a customizable eq along with Rock, Pop, Jazz etc. presets. This unit has plenty of volume and sounds good if you pair it with good earbuds or headphones. The earbuds supplied sound terrible. There is no lock/hold for the buttons, so sometimes you can inadvertently activate a button when you don't want to. However, when a song is playing, the screen and buttons sleep after about 30 seconds so you don't have to worry about it after that. You just press the main button on the side of the unit to wake it up again. The device is quite heavy, made of some type of metal. It is smaller than it looks in the pictures. For the price, I believe this device delivers what it promises. I would say the sound quality and price is what convinced me to keep it. Just remember to use a good pair of earbuds to reep the benefits.

MP3 player
First and foremost, the description says 60 hours of play which must be a typo. It should read 6 hours. The product is ok, can be difficult to navigate in the beginning. I can't imagine someone trying to watch a video on its tiny screen. I like having the FM tuner and Bluetooth. On the downside: When I try turning it off, it goes into sleep mode. Still working on this one. I don't think I got the one I ordered seeing they all have the same description at different prices. I paid 36.00 for mine. It has 8 GB, of space. But the description says for 36.00, 16 GB. Make sure you check the description of your product and compare it with what comes in the mail. All in all I'm neither impress, or unimpressed. I use the MP3 to play my music through my Bose Soundtouch 30 series III. Again maybe I read it wrong, it is not 60 hour of play on one charge.

Easy Record button
The unit is exactly what I was looking for. The Record button is on the front as a function key so you do not have to search through apps. to record. I have added a 64 gb miniSD and I don't feel I will ever need to add more. The only problem I have noticed is the location of the sd card insertion slot. The slot is just below the power button and is easy to eject if pushed. I have placed a small piece of electrician's tape over the opening just to make sure I don't accidentally loose my sd card. Other than that small detail the player is easy to use and the battery holds a long charge. The external speaker is a bonus that I did not realize existed until I pushed play without the headphones in. For me though the Record button is why I bought the unit in order to transcribe my notes from. Great small player, I am happy with this purchase.
