Great story version from Wolf's perspective
This was a perfect story for middles school students to analyze and compare to the original.

Absolutely delightful fractured fairy-tale
An absolutely delightful picture-book re-telling of the fairy tale, “Little Red Riding Hood”, from the perspective of the infamous Wolf, the much-maligned anti-hero who it may turn out, is not such a bad guy, after all. This fractured fairy tale is funny, charming, gorgeously illustrated, and is sure to captivate even the youngest reader. With just a hint of scariness, and a whole lot of attitude, this Wolf is quite the character.A cook, maid, odd-jobs man (wolf) for Grandma, our Wolf-storyteller is quick to acknowledge that others, for some reason, find his presence intimidating. Including that annoying little girl in the red cape, who he cannot help but feel is favored, (perhaps unfairly?) by her doting grandmother. As he goes about his daily tasks, trying to care for Grandma in the expected-caretaker-type ways, it comes to pass that one day, things go terribly wrong.(For after all, he is a wolf, trying to get by in a human world, and from that perspective, our entire story now pivots.)Without giving the plot away (no spoilers here), this tale will charm, entertain, mesmerize and gently enlighten any child - providing a glimpse into “another”, who may look alien or unfriendly from the outside - but may, perhaps just be different. (Even really different, or scary). For after all, there’s always another side to any story.“Would I lie to you?”A great big thank you to #Edelweiss, the author, and the publisher for an ARC of this enchanting book. All thoughts presented are my own.

Not he greatest story
The book itself is good quality but I was a little disappointed in the story...kinda drags and didnt keep my childs interest. Ok overall just not as good as I had hoped.

I felt let down
This wasn't as funny as it was advertised to be. It also wasn't as interesting. If I read the book before buying, I wouldn't have gotten it.

Clever, engaging and an instant hit.
Oh I really love this book, the alternative telling of little red riding hood! The text is developed and explored as a conversation between the wolf and the reader, perfect for reading aloud! The images are very detailed and the wolf, he is really well illustrated. My little one was quite engrossed with this story but still didn't trust the wolf!!Lovely edition to any library, I would use it for story time and perhaps read the classic telling of little red riding hood and see how believes the wolf or the girl!! It's a little dark in atmosphere, engaging and so worth the money. You won't be disappointed.

Better than the original! A modern 'Fairy Tale'
Delightfully wicked wolf tells his 'version of events', but is he to be trusted?! It is a great tale with beautifully vivid illustrations that will delight children and adults alike, though might be a bit scary for very sensitive little ones. For me it recaptured the dark mystery of the fairy tale I found as a child, in a way I cannot really explain. I have bought for my 4yr old niece as an accompaniment to all the usual fairy tales, but am going to keep it aside till she is maybe 5 or 6....there is content in the tale that may be better understood a little later eg jokes about the wolf wearing 'contacts' that make his eyes look big, and other rather more 'grown up' jokes and subtleties. I think it would also be a great story for opening up discussion about trustworthiness in others too, when the time comes for that A 'must have' for any lover of the fairy tale in general, and the wolf in particular!

Fantastic book
What a fabulous book. My class LOVED it. I used it for KS1 on World Book Day when we did our teacher swap but used it with my Y5 class to do two weeks worth of writing. They really enjoyed it and read so much more into it than I thought. The illustrations are fantastic and there is opportunity for discussion as you see through the wolfs eyes, mouth, over his ears. A great purchase.

Brilliant, different book.
Fabulous book. My daughter (32 years old 🤣) loved it as it’s a different slant and when she read it to her lovely 5 year old and 3 year old they loved it too 😃.

Great for kids to consider
Used this for my storywriting unit years 1/2Gave children a different scenario to consider and then their subsequent drama focussed on alternative storylines for traditional tales. Will use again and again. Encourages children to create their own storylines.I can recommend
