Budget and pocket friendly multimeter
This is a very budget and pocket friendly multimeter. It’s small, well built and I think is accurate and precise enough. If this is your first multimeter, it’s a great starting point; if you want a portable one, I think it’s great for that; if you want to show off, stop reading and get a Fluke. It’s not a Fluke and it costs a small fraction of it, so any comparison to Fluke or a Bryman or any other big brand is unfair. I’ll try my best to give you an overview of what this is and what is not.Construction: It feels pretty solid, it will not survive a fall from more than your desk though, so don’t leave it unattended on the roof of your house. The leads are permanently attached to it, and their cable is not super flexible, but it’s not hard stiff either. I can put the leads back to their intended position in the case without any problem every time I use it. The clamp case is convenient to store everything in a smaller package than a modern phone, but it’s not really convenient for having it in a stand up position (also, the whole thing is pretty light and any tension/pressure on the leads will move it) but you can let it laying flat on the table and it will be OK. The dial feels as if it will survive some years of moderate usage, but the front of the unit and the function keys are made of a soft plastic that will be damaged if not handled with care. I did a small dent on it after closing it without putting the leads in the correct position.Features: Let me start with what other users complain about.Continuity: The buzzer is not super loud but it’s not faint either, I actually like the volume it has. It’s fast and not scratchy at all..Protection: I agree with other reviewers, this one seems to have almost no protection at all, and because the leads are permanently attached, you can fry it if you put it in the current position by mistake while measuring a power source. I always adjust the dial and double check it’s not in current mode before testing a circuit. The good thing is that if you make a mistake, you can get another one because these are not expensive. Having no protection would be a really bad thing if this was a 3 figures DMM, but it’s not. I use it for electronics circuits where the protection is not really needed.Battery: I also agree with some complaints, it’s kind of a hassle to change the battery, you need to disassemble the whole thing, but it is not the end of the world and if you use it as a backup multimeter or a travel one, you probably will not be changing battery anytime soon.On the rest of the features, I did a comparison against the UT61E+ which costs a bit more and which I use as my main multimeter but which is bulkier and heavier. To be honest, the readings were so close that I feel very comfortable taking the Allosun as my only multimeter when I’m going as a volunteer to repair events. Please pay more attention to the discrepancies than to the overall accuracy and take into account that the Allosun is a 1000 count device vs 22000 in the UT61E+.DC Voltage:2.5V :: Allosun 2.508; UT61E+ 2.4985.0V :: Allosun 5.02; UT61E+ 5.0037.5V :: Allosun 7.53; UT61E+ 7.49810.0V :: Allosun 10.02; UT61E+ 10.002DC millivolts (Using a signal generator):1.0mV :: Allosun 1.1; UT61E+ 1.1910.0mV :: Allosun 10.0; UT61E+ 10.16AC Voltage:5.0V :: Allosun 5.002; UT61E+ 5.00810.0V :: Allosun 10.00; UT61E+ 10.01Hz(Using a signal generator): 60Hz :: Allosun 59.8; UT61E+ 59.98Ohm:30 Ohm :: Allosun 29.7; UT61E+ 30.0210 kOhm :: Allosun 10.00; UT61E+ 10.084Diode drop :: Allosun 0.554; UT61E+ 0.5416Capacitance:2.20mF :: Allosun 2.282; UT61E+ 2.306; DE-500 2.120.800mF :: Allosun 0.881; UT61E+ 0.9134; DE-500 0.820Current (reference value taken from what the power supply indicated):1mA :: Allosun 1.26; UT61E+ 1.2845mA :: Allosun 4.94; UT61E+ 4.96810mA :: Allosun 10.14; UT61E+ 10.164100mA :: Allosun 101.2; UT61E+ 101.31Notice that for capacitance I also used a DE-500, which is what I trust more for these measurements; for current, the reference value is the one reported by the power supply, which is quite probably less accurate than the DMMsSo, in summary, I do like it and will buy it again (actually I just did, the first one I had I left it with a family member I was recently visiting).

Compact and a time saver !
I do residential maintenance (554 units) and this meter makes my life easy. The no contact voltage detection allows me to check outlets for power without having to use the test leads. It fits nicely in a small compartment in my toolbox and has come in very handy when my large meter is back in the shop. It’s easy to use and does almost everything my Beckman meter can do. It’s been a time saver and the readings are accurate

The compact size is the BEST feature.
Great product for the price! This is super small, auto sense AC/DC sources, does continuity, has built in non contact voltage sensor. The size the the reason I bought this, and its self contained compact style form is perfect. The only thing I didn't care for is in the continuity mode, in order to have an audible alert, you have to select it, that should be default. While this won't be do-all meter, it is functional enough for 80% of the work I do.

Great little auto-ranging multimeter
The first thing you need to do when you receive this multimeter is remove the plastic keeping the batteries from making contact. It is best to open the case as if you are going to use it, then remove the two #1 Phillips screws. Remove the plastic tab and put the back back on.The meter itself is stable (I've seen some reviews that say otherwise), it matches readings from one of my Flukes, and it seems to work great. I haven't tried every setting, but it worked well for everything I need it to do. I didn't buy it for any serious work, but rather a meter that is easy to keep in a travel bag or glove box.In terms of ease of use, if you know how to use a multimeter, there is no reason to look at the instructions that came with it.There are three things that I think could be better: first, I added a little silver Sharpie to the little arrow on the mode selector to make it easier to read. Second, I am a little concerned about how the hinges for the top cover work. I feel like they may be the weak link in the system and may break. Time will tell. The final thing is that there is a little clip for the test leads. It too feels a little cheaply made. However, this isn't going to be my every-day meter, so it should all be fine.Oh, yeah... how do you beat that price!?

I highly recommend this product!
I've only used this on my John Deere Gator. I do a lot of starting and stopping with little run time. I ordered this because my 8 year old battery was becoming unreliable and I didn't want to take the time to replace it. I'm often deep in the woods and now I always have this jump starter with me, it's compact and very easy to use and has saved me a long walk several times. I've only charged it once (when I first got it), and it's still showing 100%. I have a new battery now, but I still keep this in the Gator just in case. Great insurance at a very reasonable price!

pretty good for a pocket sized multi
simple, compact and good but annoying case in my opinion. hinges come loose and not easy to fit the wires sometimes.
