Easy and simple and does the job
Bought this for my father a few years ago, he has wet macular degeneration, and he loves it! People ask him about it all the time, after hearing it, and he is proud to have it at age 90. Despite some memory issues, he quickly finds the date or time, so no issues there! Easy and simple and does the job... never off on time either! Great watch!

Nice watch ⌚
This is a nice watch. It truly is helpful for those who are blind or visually impaired. Numbers and hands are fairly large and easily read if you still have some vision left. But its main function is to tell you the time, day & date, alarm and other functions of the watch. You can read the manual on how to operate and set the watch, but I don't think it's very helpful for those who can't see. Thankfully the watch gives very good voice prompts for adjusting and setting things like the time & date, alarm time, time zone. This is an atomic watch, which means that it sets the time & date automatically everyday. It automatically syncs everyday around 3:00 a.m. So the only thing the wearer has to worry about is changing the CR2032 battery every now & then. Very helpful for blind people. So why the 4⭐? First of all the watch feels very light and hollow. The bezel is some kind of brushed metal (maybe aluminum?). The band is a shinier stretch band (like the old Speidel watch bands in the 70s). All of these things give the watch a sort of cheap look and feel. But hey, you get what you pay for. It's not a $2000 swiss time piece. It's a $65 watch. It's lightweight, functional, not the most hideous thing I've seen. And the light weight also feels comfortable on my wrist. Buttons are very easy to push. Too easy in fact. Wearing my shirt or jacket will trigger the watch to start talking. Also there's no way to adjust the volume it change the voice type. Holes in the watch's back are for the speaker and I seriously doubt the watch is water resistant. So be careful around water sources like swimming pools, beaches, faucets, etc. All in all this watch does improve the quality of my life. I'm not totally dependent on my phone for something as basic as telling the time. I hope that future versions of this watch will become solar so I don't have to worry about going to the jeweler's just to change the battery. The seller was very prompt in shipping the item to me and delivered to my front door. Excellent service from the vendor.

Perfect Low Vision Aid
State of CT Dept for the Blind provided this watch to my Veteran husband who is losing his sight to glaucoma. The leather band broke so I replaced it with this metal band version. He relies on the watch voice to tell the exact day and time. It works very well and is a perfect aid for the blind.

A Totally Useless 'Talking' Watch
I bought this for my mom who has low vision due to Macular Degeneration. First of all this watch is a bugger to get set to the right time, I had to use a special tool (not supplied) to poke into the small indention to set the time, then it took me several tries and a call to the help center at Atomic Talking Watch company to get it right, there is no way my mom could have set the time herself. Then after about 3 weeks the time was off by over 10 minutes. I had to take my special tool to my mom's assisted living facility and with the instructions on my lap re-set the time. I told mom to check the accuracy of the watch by comparing it to the time on her computer. All well for another 2 weeks; today she didn't have the watch on, she said yesterday it went "crazy" advancing time with the hands spinning around. It stopped at totally the wrong time ( she has a magnifying glass for close work). The watch will not be used again, this is some $45 down the drain. A totally useless talking watch. I will get batteries for her old Timex and she will use her magnifying glass as she used to to check the time. Save your money and your irritation and give this Talking Watch a pass.

Great watch for the visually impaired
Bought this for my dad who is legally blind. Actually this is the second one. The first one lasted over two years with heavy use. Battery finally died, and held up much longer than advertised. Changing the battery is kind of tricky so took it to a jeweler who has worked on these watches before . Was not able to fix the original watch without sending it away,so decided to just buy my dad this second one. He absolutely loves it and uses it constantly. It gives him a sense of independence and the volume is perfect. Comes out of the box ready to go. Great product and that's why we bought the exact same watch this time.

Close but no cigar!
This was the third watch and most expensive we purchased in as many months. The first was the best physical package but did not work well. The second was bulky and spoke well but the light colored hands were difficult to read. This watch is still bulky and the face is the best yet but the voice function is not the best. It's sometimes hard to set off and other times sporadically gives unwanted messages. The manual appears to have been written or translated by non-English speakers and is confusing and hard to follow.

Great for Seniors or Others with Vision Issues
I was really pleased that this watch arrived already set up and ready to go! I pressed the top button and it gave me the time...pressed the bottom button and it told me the date and day. My Mom can't see well enough to use a watch, but she lives alone and so this is very helpful for her. I bought her a different one a few years ago; but what I like better about this one is that it's automatically set for the right time and it adjusts itself for Daylight Savings Time.Think about how many times a day you check your watch or cell to see what time it is. What if you couldn't??This is a very thoughtful thing for someone who can't see that well. The watch itself has a big face and is easy for me to see...so, those with more vision than Mom would be able to see it probably. Because it "talks, for her it really does the job. Watching someone age and have challenges like this makes me realize how many things we take for granted. This watch is great for anyone who can't see the time for themselves, but want to know how many minutes until Survivor comes on tv!
