Seemed adequate for the purpose
I never installed these diffuser lens because the Bright Eyes Stamina headlamp didn't have the run time I needed as a daytime flasher. However, the Stamina would be a perfect choice for night time off-road use. In that case, you will definitely need this product because the Stamina has a very hot, concentrated spotlight pattern. I would have installed both of them as some other reviews have detailed.

Need a wider field of illumination? This is the lens for it.
This review is for the diffuser lens(some people have reviewed the light itself on this listing). The diffuser lens works fantastic! It takes the round spot light effect and makes it a much wider and more practical(for those using it as a bicycle headlight) beam. With the round spot there was a lot of problems with the light going into the eyes of oncoming traffic or having to aim the light so low you did not get much distance. This lens takes care of that problem very effectively. You can now put the field of illumination farther out in front of you without having to blind the people coming the other way. Would be nice if the light came with one of each lens but at least it can be bought afterward. The photos posted in another review are very accurate and show just how the lens works.

This headlight is simply awesome. I'm not a super techy person
Where do I start?? This headlight is simply awesome. I'm not a super techy person, but I can tell you that it is BRIGHT! I noticed a distinct difference in the behavior of the cars around me on my commutes to work. Even on bright, sunny, Florida days this light commands attention. People see me coming and slow down. I use the strobe during the day and noticed that even a speeding police car immediately slowed down to see what the heck that was as I approached. Everything mounts in seconds and is super snug, doesn't go anywhere.I had the opportunity to use the headlight one evening on the 4th of July, riding back home. I was nervous about all the (possibly) drunk drivers on the road, but my Bright Eyes headlight could not be missed. Cars slowed and gave me a wide berth. This thing produces so much light that the entire street, from sidewalk to sidewalk, was well lit and easy to navigate. As for the customer service...I had a gnarly bike accident with this headlight on my handlebars and completely smashed the light. The cord also snapped between my stem and the pavement. Like I said, it was a bad accident and the breakage was in no way a reflection of the quality of the light. I emailed Don and got an immediate reply and an offer to send out a new headlight and connecting cord (the battery was fine) for only $10 shipped! On top of that, he put it in the mail the same day so that I could get it quickly, with the promise that I would send him a check. I was so pleasantly surprised at this show of above-and-beyond customer service that, frankly, you just don't see these days. This headlight is worth every penny and will probably save your life.I can't say enough good things about this light and the customer service. I hemmed and hawed over purchasing for longer than I should. Buy it! You won't regret the purchase.

Great light, lousy mounting system
This light is great - good quality and very bright. However, the mounting system is PATHETIC. The light attaches to the handlebar with a rubber band that hooks to the front and back of a plastic cradle that is part of the light. This is problematic for two reasons: 1) you cannot tighten down the light. It can only be as tight as the rubber band will allow, which means every time you hit a bump, the light points slightly upward. Plan on having to readjust every couple of miles. 2) The rubber band is not attached to anything, so it will be very easy to lose. The package includes four bands (2 short and 2 long to accommodate different bars), which indicates that the seller pretty much expects you to lose one. Why not just use a better mounting system? Furthermore, the cradle that sits on the handlebar is rigid plastic, so it cannot flex to fit thicker bars. If you have thick handlebars, this light will not sit securely. It would be much better if it was made of rubber. Despite the excellent performance of the light itself, if I buy another light, I will not buy this one; I will choose a light with a more secure mounting system.

The wide-angle beam was great for my handle-bar mounted light
Update: After my complaint about the loose fit of the thinner diffuser lens, Bright-Eyes sent me a replacement light with the diffuser lens already installed, and a pre-paid envelope for me to return my light. The diffuser on the replacement light fits just right. The diffuser was install with the bumpy ridges facing out, smooth side in. Also, the green O-ring is supposed to be on the outside of the lens. I might have had the O-ring on the inside, but I tried it both ways.-------------------------------------------------------I got the 2-pack, but I'm only using one on my handle-bar mounted light. I'm leaving my helmet light as a spot for longer throw. The wide-angle beam was great for the handle-bar mounted light. I was able to use the light (Bright-Eyes 1200lm) on low/medium (800lm) for climbing, without my helmet light. Descending, I turned the light to high, tilted it up a bit, added my helmet light, and I could see everything.FYI, The lens is around 39mm in diameter.

Works as it should..
Works as it should to diffuse the light into a wider beam. It is important to read the directions and install the lens at the correct orientation. If you don't the light pattern will not be horizontal. Turn the light on and point it to a wall before you tighten it down and do your best to hold the lens in place so it does not turn while you tighten it down. Excellent lens for the purpose - being able to see a wide angle from my road bike at night.
