Lasts a long time
I've had this lock exactly 3 years and 1 day. I've had it on the outside of my vehicle all this time in all weather conditions. From dry, rain, snow , rain and desert conditions. They secure my spare fuel tanks on the back of my truck. Never had a stolen fuel tank. Never failed to operate. I'm embarrassed to say I have never oiled them either. Heading out for the weekend I decided to empty the fuel from the fuel cans after work today. Someone else leaving my work started asking me questions about the truck. I forgot about my keys. Washed up and drove home in this condition 15.5 miles on the freeway and suburban streets. I used to think this was terrible feature. That you couldn't remove the key in the unlocked position. Now I'm so happy that it cant. =) Fantastic lock. Thank you to abus for this quality product and the lockpickinglawyer for recommending it.

Very nice padlock
I like most everything about it. The only thing I would change are the very sharp edges on the circumference of the top and bottom of the body. I ended up grinding them slightly which went through the chrome plating but made what I am using it for easier to deal with.

Was as I expected
I purchased this to put on a pelican case for a flight. The plating on the shackle took a beating, but otherwise everything was great. I ordered two locks keyed alike, it came with 2 pairs of keys and their code on cards. These are key retaining locks, so that may get a bit annoying for folks who aren't used to it. For their size they are pretty hefty. I'll probably order the 88/50 for some other places I need locked up.

Great lock, very hard to pick. Check locke pickers websites. This one is best value lock. Will buy again.

Bought a new lock and was delivered a lock that had clearly been opened and returned. Very disappointed in Abus.

The lock is great, but the lock smith that rekeyed the locks ...
The lock is great, but the lock smith that rekeyed the locks to be identical messed up on the retention screw. The lock could be gutted without a key and I had to fix it myself. All messages to the seller were ignored.
