Port in a Storm: A Fiqh Solution to the Qibla of North America

This book lays to rest all arguments or perspectives opposed to the observance of the traditional northeasterly orientation to the Qibla from North America. It is a reader friendly yet scholarly exposition of the subject. The author sites premier scholars from the Maliki tradition who themselves advocate the northeast direction to face the Qibla; contrary to the great minority of Maliki's who mistakenly observe an eastern orientation based on treatment of the earth as flat (as a map) rather than rounded (3 dimensional). The information contained in this book is critical for all Muslims, and others interested, to read and understand.

This book answers the question of the qiblah in such a manner that it left no doubt in my mind. I would recommend this book to anyone wondering whether they can pray facing southeast in North America.
