Dr. SlickSquall Fishing Plier, 7-1/2", Aluminum Frame, with Tungsten Carbide Cutters

Everything on these pliers is great and matches the quality of most $200+ pliers. However, I have fairly large hands and these are quite large to the point they are almost awkward to work. If you have medium-small hands, I would caution against them unless you try them out first.

These work great to get my flies free from the bull redfish we got into this spring.

I always wanted a pair of “high end” fishing pliers but could never be happy with myself to own a pair of $200+ pliers! These pliers from Dr Slick are fantastic! It is amazing how easily they cut thru 60 lb hard mono AND super-thin braid. They also look nice and have a great holster. Get these and forget about the other options!

they have a smooth nose on them that does not close. Won't hold on to a hook and won't hold onto line or knots. unfortunate purchase.

I have only used the pliers on one fishing trip, and they did well. The holster and lanyard worked fine, the pliers gripped tight, and the cutters cut braid and floro cleanly and smoothly.

There are less expensive versions of this 5hat do the exact same thing. Paying for the brand I guess.

These pliers are really nice, but the holster that came with them is terrible. The holster is designed to rotate on the belt clip and that is exactly what it does. Every time you sit down or shift positions the holster rotates and the pliers start to fall out. You have to keep readjusting the holster. It is a good thing there is a tether on the pliers or you will lose them. Why would you want the holster to rotate? Sent them an email and they have a new holster and will send me one. I will up the rating if it is as good as the pliers.

Very light weight. Perfect for clipping to the wader suspender.
