This supplement contains calcium. Since calcium is known to inhibit iron absorption, why is it included? Is my body going to get any iron from this?

There is some calcium present and not sure why but doesn't seem to change the therapeutic effect...Very few people need iron supplementation but if your physician recommends there should be some end point monitored such as serum iron,TIBC, ferritin etc to know when to stop...Most of us can get away with taking large iron doses indefinitely as the body regulates iron absorption based on needs but the rare individual with hemochromatosis can get iron loaded and very ill...

Are these coated or are they chalky?

They do not have a hard coating, but are smooth to the touch and go down easily. NOT chalky to me.

What is the expiration date if I order today

No idea...The expiration date really has no relation to when you order except that it won't be expired.. I think you will probably get at least a yr maybe two before it expires but in my opinion you can take for quite a long time after and they wil still be effective...

does this contain calcium carbonate?

Not the recent bottle I bought …Ingredients listed on the side of the bottle but there is not a photo of this list on the Amazon page…Perhaps on the manufacture’s web site…
