This is my second purchase of this great net. My original net lasted 5 years and then started showing signs of wear and tear. This net is fantastic for skimming leaves off the surface of my in-ground pool, as well as going deep and scooping up debris from the bottom of the pool. I have a Polaris vacuum sweeper as well, but I like the idea of eliminating as much debris as possible from the bottom of the pool to preserve the health of my automatic sweeper. Highly recommend this deep leaf net for its effectiveness, ease of use, great cost and longevity.

I am so happy I ordered this skimmer!! The overall size and quality are much better than I expected. The heavy duty frame is very durable and the price was very reasonable The scoop is nice and big and is formed to flow through the water nicely without resistance LOVE this net! I looked at pool nets at many stores and I even went to pool supply stores (way overpriced) and I like this net by far than any other nets I've seen out there. Very sturdy and strong, I have the occasional turtle, mouse and frogs and the way the bottom is built it helps to pick up debris easily. This is the second one I have bought, and I will buy it again when I wear this one out. The angled front lift's debris nicely onto the screen from the bottom of the pool (for some of the deceased mice, etc). So far, it seems pretty sturdy and what a difference it makes! The holes on this skimmer are small enough to trap all the grass that flys in from mowing so I am able to trap the grass before it sinks. It is very light and seems well constructed and with its bigger surface. I am a 57 year old woman and this skimmer makes it so much easier for me to clean the pool surface! This is a great solid investment and very easy to use. Works extremely well for me I would definitely recommend this product to everyone!

Update: How wrong I was! This pool skimmer is GREAT. It’s has lasted nearly two years of almost daily use. Whatever appeared to be fraying netting was not - just loose ends where the net is fused with the skimmer frame. I often use my skimmer because it’s easier than putting in my expensive robo vacuum. It is designed to be pushed along the bottom of a pool to scoop up debris. Of course it also works well as a surface skimmer. I highly recommend this product. Five stars instead of my previous four. (The following review was made soon after purchase. I should have waited longer to give an appropriate appraisal.) Good but not great. Overall good for the price. The netting is already appearing to be frayed from the plastic frame after only a month. I'll see how long it holds up. It seems best for larger debris items like leaves, etc. and not for smaller stuff. I figure, however, this is good for the price and I can buy two for the price of one at a more expensive price.

I'm not sure why some have commented that this is a cheaply made product or otherwise flimsy. Though we've only had it a short time it has performed well and seems sturdy and better made than the unit we replaced that lasted over three years...and with all the trees surrounding our pool we tend to be pretty rough on these things. This leaf rake has a tad smaller opening than some...including our previous rake, however, the bag is deeper and there's a nice flat lip or edge that runs along the bottom of the opening that allows you to scoop up even smaller debris from the pool bottom. The rake is re-enforced all around the opening with an aluminum band and features a sturdy abs plastic casing that forms the lip, Y-joint and shaft. If it broke the first time you used it you either got a defective unit or were trying to lift 40lbs of wet leaves. Four stars for now until we've had for a while, meanwhile I'll simply offer that this rake is inexpensive, sturdy and delivery was very fast. Cheers.

I liked the idea of this product being made of aluminum so it lasts longer. My favorite part of the item is the mesh that this net uses. Its not too fine where it takes a lot of effort to drag it through the water, yet its fine enough that it even catches ash. There have been some brush fires in the Los Angeles area, but even though its 50 miles away, ash has covered my pool. I bought this specifically to clean up the ash so my pool man doesn't have to suffer in the heat as long and so it doesn't clog up my filter which was just cleaned. It worked great. My only complaint is that though the opening is wide, its could use a bit more depth. Its fine when I push the net in front of me, but when I stand still and move it side to side, its takes a few more passes to catch all the leaves. Overall, great product, but more importantly, great price as it is a product of better quality and 50% cheaper than my neighborhood lowe's.

There is a bit of bend when using the brush. The net works as desired. It would be better to have a separate brush to allow for more force to be used while brushing.

After reading all of the many positive reviews on this pool rake I decided to buy it, and you people were absolutely right... this is an amazing product and at a very low price. Compared to the smaller leaf screens I've previously used, this rake is at least four times faster. I have a 15 by 38 foot in-ground pool and I can clean it completely either by standing on the edge of the deck using a 16' pole or from in the pool using a shorter pole. It easily slides along the bottom, scooping up everything in its path from leaves and pine needles to very small bits of debris. One of its best features is the large bag which allows me to completely clean the pool without having to empty it. And as for emptying the bag, you simply flip it over so the bag falls down through the frame and shake everything out in a couple of seconds. It also works very well as a "hand held" skimmer. While in the pool, you can use it without a pole attached and skim the entire surface in minutes, taking advantage of the wide opening. I've been using this rake for a few weeks now and it appears to be very sturdy. With a little care and keeping it stored out of the sun, it ought to last a long time. But at these prices, I'll probably order an extra one.

Well this is the second time I’ve purchased this item and while it works great. The looking pins on this one seem to be very finicky looks like it’s a bit defective.

Had a net like this previously, but after 5 or so years of use, it broke under a heavy load of wet leaves. Looked all over for a replacement. Tried another style - more money, heavier construction - but it did not have a big enough “mouth” nor was it easy to flip over and thus, empty. Happy to find this. Works well and looks like it will stand up for a good number of seasons.

No stick can be attached to it.
