This is a fun little tool
This is a fun little tool. I purchased it to take some cool photos while in the mountains, and group photos. The handle is made out of rubber and the pole is made out of metal. The phone/camera holder is attached the the pole via a tripod mount screw attached to the pole with a hole in the phone mounting base. This is both a plus and a minus. The plus is that you can attach other devices besides a phone (camera, gopro, etc) that have the mounting hole for a 1/4" tripod mount screw. The downside to this is that the screw does have a slight tendency to work it's way out and allow the phone base to wiggle around. This is a major issue when taking multiple pictures or when you're extending the stick out multiple times in a row. The same can be said for the screw that adjusts the angle that your device is on. No matter how tight you tighten this screw, it does not seem to stay in place and can flop your device backwards when you're trying to take a picture.A major plus for this stick above others is that it does not run on bluetooth or other technology that requires you to charge the stick. The selfie stick instead uses a small cable that plugs into your devices 1/8" headphone jack. This allows you to just pick up the stick and use it whenever you feel like, without having to charge it or think about it ahead of time.

A piece of 🙊
I'm so disappointed with this crappy selfie stick. I only bought the trash of a product because the reviews claimed it was the "best". I beg to differ. Here are the reasons:1. The rod is not strong enough to support the weight of the iPhone 6 plus. The extension rod just swivels rather than holding the phone upright to take the picture. I attempted to fix this problem (temporarily while on my vacation until I can buy a DIFFERENT product) by super gluing the rod at the point of the next extension (see photo) unfortunately the super has worn off so I will not be able to use the stick for the rest of my trip.2. There was a rubber piece on the holder part to keep the phone from sliding out. For some reason the design allowed for the piece to be removable so it has since fallen off.I fixed that by putting a hair tie in its place (see photo) otherwise my phone would slide out of the clamp. This fix was working but it doesn't matter anymore bc the super glue is gone and the phone will just drop out of the upright position anyway.3. The button to control the shutter is very difficult to press. So I don't use it (well I don't use the stick at all anymore so the button is a mute point)To fix that issue I used the 3 second count down feature on the iPhone.Overall I hate this selfie stick. DON'T advertise that it works for a phone and it doesn't. Just because the phone can fit in the clamp doesn't mean it is designed to work for the phone if it can't support the weight. F this stick n the box it came in...

Great for families!
Great add on. I was never in any pictures as someone had to hold the camera. People had asked my kids if their parents were divorced or their mom was dead because it was always their dad and them in the shots. I have now been resurrected. Easy to use, reliable, provides an opportunity for the whole family to be in a shot without bothering strangers. The 45" length is much longer than the other brands and allows for a broader shot. Very sturdy and the added benefit of just clicking the button for the picture. Great for non-techie types who want a no hassle, compact option for increased picture taking. I researched these gadgets thoroughly before buying this one. I did good. Highly recommend.

You have to download an app to use this... so if a friend wants to quickly take a picture with there phone they can't unless they also have the app. Other than that it takes good pictures! Also can sometimes twist around if its not held horizontally because my phone (samsung s4) is too heavy to have it held vertically. Doesn't bother me too much though

Great product for the price!
Great for the price you pay for it! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star review is because when you hold it slightly sideways, your phone tilts and falls to the side. So taking portrait selfies with this selfie stick is not an option because it'll just slide around to the bottom.

Just got this stick and I can tell already that I like that it plugs into the phone rather than using Bluetooth. Taking it to Cuba at the end of the month for a real test. I will say that it's super small and lightweight.

Works well enough for its intended purpose...as long as you remember to jam in the jack to your camera with more than usual force. Otherwise the button that takes the picture won't work for its intended purpose.

Not sturdy enough to take photos at any angle; phone/stick spins upside down
I did my due diligence and consulted the Amazon reviews and tech blog reviews before choosing this selfie stick. I wanted to like it because it's lightweight and doesn't require a battery, Bluetooth or self-timer. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to lock the stick into place, so the gravity forces the clamp and phone to spin downward. This means I could only take horizontal selfies and had to be careful with my movements. If I tilted my hand too much to the right or left, the phone would spin upside down. If I tried to position the stock to take a vertical selfie, the phone would spin upside down. We tried this with an iPhone 6+ and a Note 4 with the same results. I'm returning this tomorrow! :/
