You know, this is a pretty good study bible. I like the way they have Jimmy's commentary right there after each verse. I bought the kindle version which was much cheaper than the book edition at the time. Now, most of us know, that Jimmy had a great ministry, until he had problems with a couple of females. I only saw the first one, but Jimmy must have needed glasses, as his wife was much prettier than she was. However, I watched some of Jimmy on his satellite channel and youtube last year, and that guy knows the bible. He believes about like the Assembly of God or Cleveland, TN Church of God did around 1960. Which I like.But, he knows the bible, and he really opened my eyes up to some things. And, I need my eyes opened, because I'm really having problems with the concept of God right now. I've seen bible believing, God loving Christians go through such tragedies! Including myself. I'm almost bed ridden, due to an injury. My mother died of cancer at the tender age of 44. It was even worse for my niece. She was so cute, and was going to develop into a beautiful young lady; but we lost her due to a stupid doctor's mistake at the even more tender age of 3.The last straw, that has really made me wonder, was a young man, who played the piano beautifully (I play it too, so I know one when I hear one, and though I'm pretty good, he was better than me). He had a sweet spirit, and was just 41 years old, and found that he had kidney cancer. He ended up dying slightly less than a year later, at the age of 42, his body riddled with cancer and in terrible pain. And, he loved the Lord.The one thing Jimmy said, that I liked (he's said more than one thing that I like) but this one thing I like. He admits, as a Pentecostal, that he doesn't understand divine healing. He said that as a boy of about 10, he would faint. It was so bad, they were going to make him leave school, as the school didn't want him to die there. His preacher had prayed for him probably 50 to 100 times, with no answer. But, one afternoon, his preacher was eating dinner at their house, and they asked him to pray afterwards, and he said he felt a fire go from his head to his toes, and he never fainted again.But, he is honest enough to admit, that he didn't understand that - why would God heal him that time, when that minister had already prayed for him so many times? Or why would God heal him at all, when so many go without healing? We all have questions like that, and hopefully, this study bible will help you and I find the answers, that only God knows and reveals through his Word.. Finally, all I can say is, it was the only bible I would read, once I got it, and Jimmy is really knowledgeable, despite his faults, and I really like the immediate commentary.I recommend this bible, particularly for Pentecostal Christians, or those who believed like Pentecostals did in the 60s.

This is a great Study Bible, which has the comments right after almost every line of text to clarify the KJ translation (minus thee and thou English). And don't let the Jimmy Swaggart name fool you, this is a Study Bible, and you can agree to disagree with his comments, even though most of the time he is right in his teachings as written. I am very happy with my purchase, and recommend it to anyone interested in understanding the Word with much greater depth, as your personal guide to our Father, Lord and Savior...through Jesus Christ.

My husband nearly cried when he opened this Christmas gift. There is a commentary after each verse and really enriches your understanding of the KJV bible. I will say, however, that the giant print makes for a very large bible. You may not want to buy this for your Sunday bible because it is bulky but that did not bother my husband...it takes it to each service. Great addition to anyone's collection.

This is the most clearly written Bibles I have EVER read. Reverend Swaggart did a fantastic piece of work in explaining the Holy Bible from becoming to end. Once a person begins reading The Expositor' s Study Bible by Jimmy Swaggart it will be extremely difficult for them to put the book down. It is clear. If you can't understand it, you can't read brother! I love it so much I went to Reverend Swaggart's website and ordered it in hard copy for my daughters at a much better sale price. I purchased this kindle copy through Amazon because it's only available on Amazon. The Bible is in black letters and words made clear are in red. Very, very easy reading. You will understand the Bible if you buy this book, no ifs, ands, or buts about it

I used to love this study bible, but after another year or two of study I find myself turning away from many of the author's "modern" (20th century) views. It can be helpful, but it can also lead astray -- which unfortunately is true with the vast majority of study bibles.

It's a big well made book with quality paper. The print was not as big as I expected but readable with cheaters. I like the commentary after each verse but it takes some getting used to. My opinion is that this is best suited to desk study. The book is so heavy and has sharp points that it's a little uncomfortable to hold in the hand or lap. It has some good maps and weight/measure tables. The pages are thick enough to turn easily. It's a good study bible and I would recommend it as such.

His wisdom and knowledge in the word of God will greatly bless you! It's not just his "thoughts or opinions" noted in this commentary. Everything he expounds on is backed up by the word of God, and influenced on of the Holy Spirit. It lines up with the bible itself, greek translations, Jewish history and some other bible tools that any true student of the bible would have in his armory! It's not like a "history book" where you "encounter the bible" but a bible commentary..only it's not your ordinary commentary bible by far! If you are any kind of familiar with what the Swaggart Ministry teaches, then you know that their ministry has always been known to teach true christian doctrine!
