Must Have for First Time Keto Dieters
This is my first time trying keto and using this device lets me know how I’m doing and if I’m successfully getting into ketosis (my first 2 weeks of keto were based on urine strips, which were inconsistent and did not seem accurate). I read reviews of several similar devices before deciding on this one as others frequently had reviews for inconsistent test results and even failure to determine the correct results of the test/control fluid. I like that this device only checks ketones, which makes it a little cheaper than other options, and the test strips come with lancets at minimal extra cost. The device is easy to use and I like that the company stresses hygiene and safety precautions. The testing is virtually painless thanks to the lancing device it comes with (I would not be able to jab myself with a needle so painlessly). And the strip itself requires very little blood. The results seem very consistent and I am learning to gauge how eating specific foods will affect my ketone levels.

Easy and seems accurate
This is very easy to use. It doesn't require a large amount of blood. I use it to check my cats ketones. I have two diabetics. The only thing I would caution is that the strips are rather expensive

easy to use
update: i decided i wanted a 2 in one blood glucose and ketone meter so i bought a pricier Foracare 6 kit that is rated high.. well turns out this here ketoSens and its strips are almost just as accurate at reading ketones as a more pricier brand if you get a good working meter and strips too.. this meter read 0.1 less (once 0.2) than the foracare 6 on every comparison test i did..not bad.decent price for a ketone meter i suppose, seems to work as should but, well that is hard to really tell isn’t it when they couldn’t even include a small bottle of solution for you to test if strips/meter are accurate!! really hate that part when it come to these human blood meter types not including any. yet my cat’s diabetic pet meter did come with solution. No reason to not charges a dollar or two more and simply include enough solution to do initial meter/strip test like included manual tells ya to do.. still i’m pretty sure everything is good but, would recommend buying solution, although it will take longer to get: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07RWQ7MD9/?coliid=IMI9AMDSKEWHS&colid=2PLJA5KSOWWJO&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_iti used my cat’s extra lancet device in the end because i like it better than one included. less steps to replace lancet. one in kit requires twisting on and off, i guess easy enough but, when you have arthritis, a slip on and off top is better.lancets are the cheesiest i have ever seen! having a diabetic cat for years now i know they could be a lot better made and the ones in this kit were made with cheapness in mind it seems. the pin/needle is so thin, it bends just by taking off plastic piece on it, needless to say after second lancet i switched to using the pet meter lancet with freestyle lite lancets that are triple the quality of these here...less finger pain too since they don’t bend on you!!strips are pricey but, that is pretty much the case with even good blood glucose meters. wish they sold them without it being a packaged deal (50 lancet & 50 strips) though.overall for its $37 price i am happy with meter itself and the test strips, the rest in kit not so much.would i bough this had i done my homework beforehand?? probably not for it seems where you can buy more strips at is very limited, to here on amazon and on E from Australia sellers!!

Quality and ease
This is a great little machine. You can tell that it is quality compared to my CBG unit. Even the lancets and the poker are superior. All and all I am really happy.

Expensive Supplies
I purchased this to monitor my keto dieting. I can't rate the accuracy, as I have nothing to compare it against, but during my initial testing, I got readings that were ballpark where I expected them to fall. I took an additional reading an hour later, with very little change (expected). The meter is very easy to use, with an easily readable display. The results were available in about half the time of my old meter, which is currently missing. This kit came with a lancet device that was of low quality, but that's to be expected. I have yet to see a budget kit that includes a decent lancet device. The kit came with 10 ketone test strips, and after being satisfied by my initial testing, I went in search of more supplies. When you're researching ketone meters, factor in the long term cost of the supplies. The cheapest I could find replacement ketone strips was about $1/ea USD, while strips for my old Abbott ketone meter can be found under $0.50/ea USD. In my search for a replacement blood ketone meter, this meter consistently ranked in the top three, so I was confident in my purchase. Had I done a bit more research prior to my purchase, I likely would've gone with a different meter based on long-term costs. If you monitor your ketones and glucose levels diligently (highly recommended on a ketogenic diet), this ketone meter can end up costing you 2x-3x in supplies over other monitors. Lesson learned. Do yourself a favor and look for ketone meters for diabetics, rather than those marketed for keto dieters. All the ketone meters I've researched appear to be similarly priced, and after a seconds look, the major difference ends up being the cost of the supplies.I am not discouraging the purchase of this product - my only complaint is the cost of the supplies. The meter is well built, is easy to use, and appears accurate. A quick flip through the manual showed it to be simple, yet informative. If I decide to continue using this meter, I will purchase the control solution and further update my review to include accuracy results.
