555 Math IQ Questions for Middle School Students: Improve Your Critical Thinking with 555 Questions and Answers

I believe 555 Math IQ Questions is a nice study guide for my middle school students. As I go over the material, I see well designed and grouped questions that will trigger the students’ higher order thinking skills. It starts with verbal questions, then includes nonverbal materials as well as visual materials. Each year I get about 25 students in my class, but their cognitive and academic levels are in a wide range. So, differentiation is a must for me to be able to serve all of my kids, and most of the time my GT students are not challenged enough and don’t find opportunities to improve their skills. I think this material will be a good helper to challenge my kids. As GT assessment tool we either use OTIS LENNON (OLSAT) or Naglieri Non-verbal ability test (NNAT2). I always think that the gifted ELL students are left behind starting at the identification process if an appropriate material is not used. So, even if those students are not identified as GT, I can challenge them with 56 tests in that book. I hope the author will consider working on another study guide with question banks sorted by DOK (Depth of Knowledge) level to help our students get ready for state assessments (aligned with Common Core). I would definitely recommend 555 Math IQ Questions to all of my colleagues especially the ones working with gifted and talented students and to the parents who would like to help their children develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills.

First of the package arrived earlier than I was expecting. I was nicely surprised.I personally bought 6 of these books for my classroom just to test them out and see how they benefit my students. Book is very simple to go through, it is a great guide and an extra helping hand for those struggling with mathematics. My students enjoyed working with these and I used these books as study guides for quizzes.

This book has great questions to prepare you students for standardized testing. It's hard to find middle school questions that aren't too hard or too easy. This book can also be used with advanced 4th-6th graders in GT programs who are working with pre-algebra algebra concepts.Students can work on the logic questions in this book without struggling with algebraic vocabulary.

I prefer the format that Dr. Steve normally uses providing several approaches to a solution, but the book is great and is perfect for a middle school student. Most of Steve's books give several ways to solve a problem; this book does not. When a student cannot solve the problem they need help from a tutor or parent.

My little brother who is in 7th grade is using this and he is really enjoying it. I think the book is great about teaching middle school students about ACT so when they are in high school and are taking the actual exam, it is hopefully not too new or scary.

It is helpful for Middle School students. All questions push them think about in different ways. It will make the students like Math.

Looks too hard for Grandma but granddaughter loves it.

Such a terrific reference work , cannot be better.I highly recommend that.
