I had been looking for a lighting kit for a while now. I recently stumbled upon this item. Before I ordered it, I was a little scared about the build quality. I ordered the item and received a large box with all of the components to this item. I was a little overwhelmed at first when I started putting the kit together. I would say that the instructions could be a little more clear but once you figure out where everything goes the first time, you'll be able to put this kit together faster and get better and better within the learning curve.The two big softboxes are great! They are not too big but not too small either. They offer full flexibility in every position. They tilt up, to the sides, and up and down. They are great for filming and for photography.The chromakey is pretty good as well. Haven't really used it enough but I could tell that it could work for someone wanting to film subjects using chromakey.There are a total of 5 stands. 2 hold the the 2 big softboxes, 1 for the small softbox, and the other two to hold up the green screen. They have several adjusters that allow for them to be raised or lowered. The build quality is great. I have had other stands that have been terrible but these are really good. They hold up the boxes and when you lock them into place, they don't fall from all of the weight from the softboxes.As for portability, I would say that this is a good kit, but it could be better. You really have to set aside time to take this kit apart and put it back in its case. But again, this could improve once you figure out how every piece works and where everything goes. The lights themselves come in individual boxes and have survived very long car rides in very bumpy roads. Nothing to worry about as far as the portability of the lights. The entire kit itself is a bit heavy but thanks to the big bag it's not too bad.Overall I would say this is a great kit for someone who doesn't need to really move the kit from place to place. I would say it works when you need to move it from different locations but takes a little time to get everything packed up. The lights work great and the build quality is really good. I haven't had any complaints from this kit. I would really recommend it!

I purchased this kit because I needed lighting for filming my vlog, and this seemed to have exactly what I needed (and then some) at a really great price.There are many positive things to say about the kit. Everything arrives in a tidy, soft-sided, carrying case (which should hold up to minimal travel use) - and each element of the kit is wrapped or packed in individual boxes (which protected the bulbs in transit). The quality of the build on the stands is good - I think they'll hold up well the way I'll use them. The soft-boxes and other pieces/parts seem to be constructed with budget in mind, but they're really great for the price.On the down side, the light box construction is different from the construction of the light boxes in the instructions and on ePhoto's website/instructional video. The pockets for the support rods are integrated into the velcro pads on the corners of the boxes and very easy to miss (considering I was looking for something similar to what appeared in the instructions) - had I known this, I would have found the pockets right away. It was a minimal inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless.Another negative is that because this is a budget kit, it was built with budget in mind (Made in China) - and in my kit, one of the eight compact florescent bulbs had a suspicious rattle in it's base when I unpacked it. If it's a tiny bit of metal, that could be a short/fire risk, so that bulb was a loss. But, the others seem to work just fine - but I'm aware this is the price of a lower cost.Be careful when you tighten the screws on the stands as well, since the screw ends will chew right into the softer metal on the supports. Use the softest touch that still does the trick to keep things tight.All in all, this seems to be a really useful kit, for a price which makes it very accessible to beginners who want to make an effort toward good lighting.
