Value for the cost.
First off I ordered two. At $3, figured, why not. I spend more on a coffee and my coffee last about 20 min and though lightens my mood, doesnt light a room or a path. This light is pretty bright. I dont know if its 300 lumen, or 10,000 lumen. But I do know this, it lit up my darkened room to where I could point it at the ceiling and still see well enough to navigate the room. The direction and shape of the light is pretty interesting. Its a perfect circle. The center being the brightest and slowly dissipating as the circle gets larger. The brightest part of the inner circle is, from about 10' away enough to cover an entire doorway from top to bottom and about 3' to each side of the door. Its no spotlight, but the light emitted is a large swath of light. I feel this light will be a great tool for if the power goes out, seeing under a car in the dark for a dropped pen or something, or working on the car, or changing a tire at night, or camping to light a trail. The construction appears to be very good. Taking a single AA battery, this light is economical to operate. AA batteries are everywhere and can be purchased in various forms and rechargeable. I am using Sanyo Eneloop XX batteries in them. For the price, for the general construction, I feel the light is great! Its the perfect size to fit in a purse, bag, back pack, car console, catch all drawer, or any other small space where you might think you may need a light or would want a light. And at the price, its a bargain, put one in every room, if your that kind of prepared person, or give them as a gift. I find nothing wrong with it at all. It did take, longer than I would have liked for it to arrive, but that is to be expected when buying something direct from china. So if you need a light right now, go to walmart. If you want a light that its ok doesnt get here tomorrow, buy it. I also bought the 1600LM Lumen Zoomable CREE XML XM-L T6 LED Flashlight Torch at the same time I bought this light. I left a comment about that light as well and compared it to a Coleman 900 lumen flash light I paid almost $20 for. By comparison to that Coleman light, this light is brighter and better made. By comparison to the 1600LM Lumen Zoomable CREE XML XM-L T6 LED Flashlight Torch this light is dimmer, but similarly constructed.

Punches above its weight!
So much light from a small package. This little guy can be hidden in your hand, yet it can outperform the large flashlights with which we grew up. It is a single mode light; on, off, but no adjustable brightness. The flashlight is able to zoom its brightness. With the lens retracted against its body, it gives a large bright circle of light with no hotspot. With the lens extended, it concentrates its beam to the shape of the led. The light is much brighter when concentrated. This flashlight can run off a single AA battery or a single 14500 lithium ion battery. It is much brighter with 14500 battery. It has an effective belt clip screwed to its side; it can be removed. The construction of the light is very robust. On one of the sides, CREE is printed. On the opposite side, HausBell is written. It was received in a box with the name HausBell printed on it. No instructions were included or nessecary. Below is a list of other flashlights I own and how this flashlight compares. Mini Cree Q5 LED - sold by PoweraddDirect: This light is also $5.99. The Mini Cree Q5 lights up a larger circle of light (not by much) and is slightly less bright due to the beam not being as concentrated. The Mini Cree is a 3 mode light (high, low, and strobe). The lens zooms in and out as does the HausBell. You have the option of using 3 AAA batteries or a single 18650 lithium ion battery ( when used with the included extension). If size is important, go with the HausBell. If you don't mind a larger flashlight, I would give a very slight edge to the mini Cree Q5. It has more features and a wider beam with little sacrifice to brightness. Lighting Ever adjustable focus - sold by Neon Mart: This light is very similar to the Mini Cree Q5. It is a single mode light with adjustable focus and it runs off 3 AAA batteries only. The beam is the same diameter as the Mini Cree Q5 and a hair less bright than the Mini Cree Q5 using the 18650 battery. Its beam's cutoff is sharper than the Hausbell and Mini Cree. It feels very well made; better than the HausBell and Mini Cree. If had to use a flashlight for work, this would be my choice. I would feel confident it would work every time and since it only uses AAA batteries, I could stock up on them for cheap and never have to worry. This is the light I'm buying my wife. Almost $10, but worth it. Although it gives up a tiny bit of brightness to the others, the build quality and the sharpness of its beam make it my choice for a compact flashlight. Intsun Ultrafire WF502B - sold by Intsun: Longer and skinnier than the above 3 flashlights. It is a 5 mode light (high, medium, low, strobe, and SOS) and has a fixed zoom. You have the choice of using 3 AAA batteries or a single 18650 lithium ion battery. This flashlight performs differently from the others. It is more of a spot beam with residual light that spills off the extremely bright small diameter beam. This light would work well for illuminating a specific area at a great distance. It is much brighter than the above flashlights. This would not be my choice for a light to use to walk the dog at night. It is a more specific use light. Excellent flashlight, but in a different category from the 3 above. Ultrafire Zoomable Cree XM-L T6 - sold by Intsun: Wow, what a flashlight! If you don't mind a bigger flashlight, this is the one to buy. It has the same 5 modes as the WF502B and zooms in and out like the HausBell, Mini Cree, and the Light Ever. You have multiple battery options: a single 26650 li-on, a single 18650 li-on, or 3 AAA batteries. It gives the largest diameter beam and is brighter than the others (except the WF502B, due to the smaller concentrated beam). It is very well made. It is priced around $10; a steal in my opinion. In summary, the HausBell 7W 300L Q5 led flashlight is a stellar performer. It combines size, performance, build quality, and price in one incredible package. I would like to comment about the advertised lumens of all these inexpensive, made in China, flashlights. They're exaggerated. In some cases, grossly exaggerated. Don't let that keep you from buying these great little lights. Their performance is comparable to flashlights priced many times their price. My, have flashlights come a long way!

Best Flashlight Deal on Amazon!
A while ago I began my search for the perfect High Lumen single AA pocket flashlight. Almost went with a Zebralight ($80-$90). Ended up going with the 4Sevens 210 lumen MiNiX 123 Flashlight that uses a single CR123A battery... Recently started another search for single AA flashlights and happened upon this one. I first saw the single item product that ships from China... then I found this 2 item product that ships through Amazon Prime. My experience is as follows: 1. I ordered the 2 Pack because it ships with Amazon Prime. I received my Order in two days. The order contained 2 flashlights as advertised. 2. The flashlight quality and build is very good. Off/on button is recessed so flashlight can balance like a candle on a flat surface to provide light for a small room or tent. Button provided off/on functions (as advertised but other reviews had mentioned other functions). Metal clip is strong and well mounted with two screws. 3. Push pull focus as well as one hand operation is easy for me. Back sides of flashlight are flat and can easily be held between fingers while thumb is used to power off/on. When firmly grasping the light, thumb and forefinger can easily push and pull the focus ring. Focus ring was easily moved and did not have any unintentional movement. 4. Yes, at high focus you do see the pattern of the LED Diodes... rectangular shapes resembling a space craft. While this is not a feature I would look for, the pattern does not detract or hinder use of the light. The first dark cloudy night we have I am going to see if I can generate any UFO sightings. The pattern may look cool slicing through the clouds. 5. Is this a 300 Lumen light? Not with an AA battery. You'll need an 18650 battery to approach that. Still, with a single AA battery it is a very bright light... as bright as I've seen. My other light has three power levels and no focus ring. I actually like being able to quickly zoom in and out from broad diffuse lighting to tightly focused lighting using the focus ring. Summary: This is a great deal and a great light. I would recommend having one of these lights in your car and house with spare batteries. Lucky I bought two because my son wouldn't give the first one I opened back... his high school friends were also impressed with the light. I would be pleased to get one of these as a gift and think this light has the "Cool" factor. Would I trade you this light for your 4Sevens or Zebralight? Yes... but then I would reorder more of these.

Great for price, quality and size; just don't expect it to really be 300lmns.
I ordered this light on a whim after losing two of my nicer flashlights in the same month. I do a fair amount of camping, hiking and other outdoor activities, but I mostly use flashlights when walking my dog through some trails near my house every night. So while browsing Amazon, I searched for flashlights to see if there were any decent deals. The CREE 7W 300 LED immediately caught my eye because of its claimed lumen output, size, many high rating customer reviews and, of course, price. Thinking it was two good to be true I did some research and there are many people saying that the light they got was not the exact same that was advertised. Some mentioned getting a similar light in size, appearance and output, but with 4 modes (high, mid, low and strobe). Others said that the light was completely faulty and didn't function at all, while others said that though the light is good, it isn't 300lmns. The reason is because their are many different sellers of this light, and many different manufacturers. Some chose to order from overseas and wait the 30 days so they could be sure they were getting it from the right manufacturer, others, like myself, wanted it in 2 days using Prime. Since ordering, I have noticed the seller change 3 times. The light I received looked exactly like the pictures. Under the LED head cap "CREE" is clearly stamped next to the LED (this is the type of LED, not brand or manufacturer). I threw in a somewhat used AA I had and pushed the button. I was surprised with the quality of the light it threw, in brightness, consistency and color. I used the adjustable zoom to give it more throw and at its narrowest, the light shined very bright in a rectangular, almost electrical electrical circuit shape. After putting in a new battery, I took it out on my walk. It is the perfect amount of light, very bright when zoomed in, and decent flood zoomed out. The output is DEFINITELY NOT 300lmn. Maybe with the other type of battery that can be used , and before the light leaves the cap and refractor mirrors, it is technically 300lmns, but not in normal use. Despite this, I am very happy with the light, for its price and quality. I didn't expect this to match-up with my $30 Maglite 250XLL, which only throws 200 some odd lumens, but it had more out then I expected. The zoom function is fantastic. This is a great, low priced but certainly not "cheap" light. Great for any activity the normal person would need a flashlight for. Because it is so inexpensive, I don't worry about losing it. I would definitely recommend this and will be buying more. I gave it 4 stars because it is not 300lmns as advertised and because I was half hoping that the one I received came with the multiple light modes. Definitely buy a few of these guys.

Get one. Get TWO. DO IT! NOW!!!
Seriously, this is pretty much the ULTIMATE budget EDC flashlight on the market right now. Cheap, durable, simple, bright as heck, handy, perfectly sized, and runs on a single AA battery - what's not to love? The zoom feature is handy at times, especially for distant things where you need to focus the light on a specific thing. The pocket clip is strong - almost TOO strong, really. The on/off button is good, although I wish that it wasn't recessed like it is because you need to dig the tip of your thumb in slightly to actuate it (a button that protrudes slightly so you can actuate it with the pad of your thumb would be nicer), but it's not a deal-breaker at all, and it keeps it from accidentally getting clicked on. I do have a few gripes: 1. The battery life is relatively short (hey, you ARE squeezing a lot of light out of ONE AA BATTERY), 2. The sharp ridges behind the pocket clip pretty much require you to get out a file and trim things down smoother so it doesn't SHRED your pocket's edge and so it's easier to take off and put on, 3. More than once, I've pinched the skin of my fingers with that little zoom thing if it slides out and then back accidentally, 4. There is such a thing as TOO BRIGHT, so at times this can actually "wash out" things you might be trying to view up close, and 5. If you tighten the cap too much or not enough, it loses electrical contact and you have to fiddle with the cap or thump it a time or two to get the light to work, although it's not a common problem. Oh yeah, and forget about the "defensive edge" at the front of the light - the whole thing is so small that it disappears in my fist if I grip it (I have average-sized hands), and the light weighs practically nothing, so there's very little advantage in using this for defensive purposes. Seriously, for as cheap and well-made and effective as these little lights are, I can't see why on earth people would spend $75 or more on some fancy SureFire or Streamlight or whatever, especially when those use fancy and expensive CR123 batteries - AA batteries are much cheaper, much easier to find ANYWHERE, and you can buy rechargeable versions to save even more money.

A great value and a good tool to have
This little flashlight works so well that I am pleasantly surprised. As a flashlight it is one of the best cree lights I have. I don't like to spend a lot of money on flashlights so the most expensive one I have is made by a well known US company that I paid $45. At that price I was only able to purchase a 4w cree light. The Good: 1) Good battery life: It takes a single AA battery. I purchased a set of rechargeable NiMH AA batteries from a local hardware store. In the two months I've been using this light I haven't needed to change the battery. 2) Brightness: I don't know how to measure the luminosity but I will say that when I zoom the light outdoors I can illuminate objects nearly 100 yards away. This thing is incredibly bright for its size and value. 3) Functionality: If you want a flashlight with bells and whistles, this one is not for you. However, if you simply want a flashlight that will shine brightly and at great distances, this is great a great light. (You may want to keep this thing away from children so they don't go around shining it in other people's eyes. It is REALLY bright!) There is one on/off switch on the back and it only has a single mode. (Maybe the fact that it doesn't have other functions makes the battery life so great.) The Bad 1) Workmanship - I don't know why the stereotype "Made in China" is synonymous with "poor quality". I have many products that have the made in China stamp are are in many ways superior to similar products made in the USA. My Leatherman Wave for example was "Made in China." But I find it to be of much superior workmanship than my "Made in the USA SOG multitool. Sadly, this little light fits the negative stereotype well. 1. Not waterproof - Don't trust this to be waterproof. There are two O-rings, one for the zoom lens and one for the button/battery compartment. However, the Battery compartment on my unit does not screw in all the way so the O-ring is slightly exposed. At the front the sliding zoom lens has an O-ring as well., but I don't trust it to be tight enough to be waterproof. However, the main housing that connects the lens does not. (In fairness, though, keep in mind that nowhere in the product description does it claim to be waterproof.) 2 The belt clip - When I received the flashlight the belt clip was too loose and did not hold the flashlight in my shirt pocket. However, it was really easy to remove the clip and bend it in with my multitool. I now carry it in my pants pocket. The Ugly There is nothing ugly about this light :0 If it wasn't for the poor workmanship this little light would be worthy of 5 stars. But, alas, I can't go there. For the money, it is well worth it and I highly recommend this product.

Good Light
This flashlight is not as bright as two other 300 lumens flashlights that I currently own. It's bright, but not 300 lumen bright. It's hard for me to really tell by comparing flashlights side by side on the exact lumens. With that being said, it's the brightest 1 AA battery flashlight that I own now. I thought my 100 lumen lightstar 100 was bright for a 1 AA battery but this light is way brighter, at least twice as bright. My lightstar was twice the money but it is constructed better. This light seems to be constructed ok, but only time will tell. This light is a good buy for the money. If the flashlight holds up, in the future I might buy the other rechargeable battery that this light can take, people claim it will make it brighter; I'll report back on that someday. Great buy, not 300 lumen on 1 AA battery anyhow. I'm still giving this light 5 stars because it's so small, bright and really cheap. UPDATE: Aug. 28, 2012: Finally bought some 14500 batteries; I bought 2 with a charger, I think I got some bad batteries because the light only burns for 20 minutes with them; has to be bad batteries. Anyhow, I just wanted to say WOW!; This little light has to be 300 lumens with these batteries, so I guess they weren't lying when they said this light can reach 300 lumens. Guess I'll buy me some more batteries of a different brand and hopefully get some good ones next time. This light is truly amazing with the 14500 batteries, blows my nebo's out of the water, and I have the nebo SE also. For this light's size with 14500 rechargeable battery I don't think there is a light on earth that is brighter, at least not yet. Oh, still a nice light with regular batteries too, just not amazing.

Uber bright, well woth the money
I tried Cree 300LM with several different types of batteries. Standard AA size alkaline are just 'so-so', bright and very useful but they cannot provide the current this thing needs. A rechargeable NiMh AA makes this one of the brightest little lights (for the price) that I have seen in some time. I measured .610 Amperes with a freshly charged NiMh, that is still just about .8 Watts of energy. A 14500 3.7 volt lithium battery draws 1.6 Amps, that works out to 5.9 Watts. The lithium battery may not last longer than 40 minutes, but for an emergency light this thing shines (pun intended). I also had a 3.2 volt LifePO4 AA, it delivered about .6 amps which works out to about 1.9 Watt of energy. The light was plenty bright. The only thing I worry about with the lithium batteries is that this light will keep trying to draw current to down below 1 volt, that low of a discharge voltage could shorten the life span of some batteries. You will notice a big drop in brightness before the voltage gets anyway near that low. Just be aware. I mostly use these for relatively short on times. Lithium batteries can be recharged at any point in the discharge cycle so, just recharge once in a while if you use this a lot. This light had a simple on / off switch in the tail cap, no different blinky modes. It has a metal case and a good quality lens with a wide focus range, the wide beam is good for area lighting. The switch feels good and a nice 'click' can be heard when you turn the light on or off. My only complaint is that the most narrow or 'spot' beam setting will actually project an image of the LED, which is somewhat square instead of a round beam. For the price, good stuff. I ordered three more of these lights.
