can be messy
The webcaster can be very messy and since its just blown hot glue its hard to clean up. Awesome effects but careful what you spray it on

went with the black, now I am sending them back
I read in a review about the webcaster gun that you should use the black sticks, as they make a "dirtier" web that is easier to see in the dark - so I proceeded to buy 5 packs of them for our Halloween decorations this year. If you purchase the gun, it comes with a couple of their plain white sticks - which went up wonderfully. Then I started using the black sticks. What a mess! Instead of the nice, gossamer strands produced by the white sticks, these just spit out as globs. It splattered all over the windows and the concrete and didn't create a web at all. I tried letting the gun heat for an extra 10 minutes, and still got huge globs of black goo instead of webbing strands. I tried less pressure on the trigger - same issue. I turned the air flow up, and then turned it down. Always just big blobs of glue being spat at the house. I even tried layering it over the white threads, and still just got black goop spit at the house.I ended up having to have friends do an emergency run to the Halloween store to get more white sticks - which they were out of. They ended up going to Walmart and buying regular glue sticks, which worked amazingly well.I would avoid using this item, ESPECIALLY if you are planning to do something indoors or are doing it on a porch where it can get on the windows/screens. It took a razor blade to get these globs off the windows and the bricks. Oh, and if you do decide to use them and get blobs of glue spit out onto brick or sidewalk, whatever you do, DON'T try and wipe them off when they are still warm. You will never get the black residue off those items. Let it cool and harden and you can chip it off.Thankfully, I only opened one pack, and I am sending the remaining 4 packs back for a refund.

Thery are ok
I used these to go over the white web I had already done and thats about all they are good for is maybe a little accenting. They take much longer to heat and they are not as easy to apply as white ot clear glue sticks.I actually purchased plain jane all purpose glue sticks from lowes, saved money and was very happy with result, very real looking cob webs IF you apply gerously enough...and if you want you can even dust the "web" with a flouresent paint to make them stand out a little more in a black light or strobe light at night

Vintage look!
They really give more of the vintage look! I like these ones better then the clear ones because they look a little more real.

Useless
Bought this to use with the webcaster. Unable to use it because the material stuck to the house and when I try to remove it, it took the paint off the house
