APEXEL2X Telephoto Lens for Dual Lens/Single Lens iPhone,Pixel,Samsung Galaxy Smartphones

Initially, i was a bit hesitant to get this lens since there were no reviews. But, I'm glad I made the jump.I use this lens with visual interpreter, and thus far, the agents have said the field of view is great, the optics are clear, and there is very little distortion.Though this lens comes with a high-quality, screw-on clip, I use this lens with a universal clip I had left over from a previous clip-on lens. While the screw-on clip is secure, it won't' work with most phone cases, so, if you do decide to use the included clip, remember that you'll need to use it without your phone case.

The picture quality is poor. There are multiple causes. First, the clip isn't long enough on the side opposite the lens to keep the lens against the phone's lens. This is especially bad when NOT using a phone case. Second, when I hold it in place, there are aberrations that make the picture blurry in parts. Third, the aperture is too small and the edges of the photo are black.I was excited to find a 2x magnification lens, and was disappointed in how it worked out.On the positive side, the seller responded to my original review and offered a full refund since the product didn't work out for me. Two stars back for great customer service (though I still can't give the product I received 4 or 5 stars in good conscience given the issues).

I got this for streaming group meetings (such as church or conference) using several phone cameras feeding video to OBS via wifi, then to a streaming service. It works well for this application, allowing one to place phone a little further back from speakers or musicians, making them less obtrusive.The model I received had a thumb screw to hold the lens to the phone, rather than a spring clip as pictured. I prefer the screw, as I've found springs can be very tight and I worry they could damage the phone. I have to take the case off the phone, and it is tricky to center, so I doubt I would ever carry this lens around for snapshots. My original order also arrived quite late.Amazon has a bunch of phone lenses, mostly in sets. I tried one of the sets (Ragu, I believe) that contained a 2x lens, but the optical quality of this lens (and others in the set) was low. The lower quality lens can still be used for streaming, but I have to crop the image in OBS to avoid distortions around the edges of the image. They are mostly suitable as a toy, which is about how they are priced. I have seen other reviews which complain about optical inferiority with this Apexel lens, but it looks good to me and is certainly fine for streaming quality.I am also using this lens on an iphone as a webcam for my computer. An old phone generally has a significantly better camera than a typical webcam (and webcams were hard to come by early on during COVID). The 2x lens allows me to get a good image size without digitally zooming, so I get a better image on Zoom or Teams video chat (with my webcam, I am at lower resolution than my Zoom background, which looks odd).So for streaming or webcam applications I recommend this product. I'm on Amazon today to buy more of them for multiple camera angles streaming a wedding.

I have an I-Phone 10XS. The phone has two camera lens separated by a light sensor. When the zoom is attached to either of the two lens it covers up the light sensor...does not work. I feel like I'm wearing a sign on my forehead that reads "I WILL NOT BUY STUPID CRAP ANYMORE!"This is the LAST time I will be suckered into cheap crap on Amazon. Reason (possibly part of the marketing game?) is that the cost around $25.00 is not worth all of the hassle required to ship it back...but Amazon knows this. My time is worth more than the $25.00 and the frustration of the whole mess makes me want to take the loss and move on.The product description states that it fits I-Phone, ALL phones.NEVER again.

I bought thi8s to counteract the "wide angle effect" I was getting from my laptop camera which made me feel a little self-conscious in online meetings. My schnozz is already on the larger size, I don't need my webcamera distorting my appearance to make it look even bigger! Saw a video for another product that had the same effect as this but it cost nearly $400. Came looking for a cheaper alternative, got this, and couldn't be happier. Turned out that my only concern - that I'd need to position my laptop too far away from me to be able to use it while I was in meetings, turned out to be unfounded. I only had to position it 4-6" farther away than I normally would.Two issues other people might consider but that don't matter to me: The clamp doesn't work on curved-back screens, so my mom couldn't try it out on her iMac. Also, the clamp doesn't open partiicularly wide, so it's nearly impossible to use my ring light with it as intended. I usually have to put the ring light to the side, not encircling the lens. But neither of these issues ditract from the results enough for me to rate it any less.

This lens is fine but seems to lack an antiglare coating. I experienced significant lens flare. The mount is mediocre and I had a hard time getting it to stay in place

CLAMP IS OK , BUTTE LENS DOESN'T FIT IN CLAMP TIGHT ENOUGH NOT TO FALL OUT, DEPENDING ON WHERE UR AT, COULD BE DAMAGED !!!

I bought this 2x adapter for a trip to Europe with my daughters, thinking it would be perfect for portrait photos. The quality of this lens and attachment seem great. As far as I can tell, the glass is sharp and clear. The problem is that mounting it on the lens is a little bit of a process, which makes it hard to spontaneously take portrait photos. Since the 2x telephoto is rather subtle, it becomes more of a burden than its worth. We traveled all over Europe for 3 weeks, and I used this lens only once, and I don't think I could pick out the photos where this lens was used. In hindsight, I should have gotten the super-wide lens. There are more times that wide would have been useful, like on the bus, or trying to get these large structures in the frame, etc.
