Easy to Use; Learn Some Tricks for Better Coffee
I am very pleased with my Keurig My K-Cupt Reusable Coffee Filter. The ability to make coffee from my own beans not only saves money and waste but it also allows for more variety on the coffee I make. Using the My K-Cup Filter is simple. You remove the assembly from the pod door and drop the machine-washable filter assembly in. Fill the coffee filter up with grounds. Drop it in just like you would a pod, and then screw on the included lid. Then brew and enjoy.Using your own beans compared to the self-contained K-Cups is obviously a little more messy and time consuming. I recommend filling the filter over the sink because inevitably a few grounds will fall out. Cleaning it is simple; just shake out the grounds and then rinse it quickly in the sink and its ready to go again. Just be aware of the inevitable potential for messiness and you won't be disappointed. Also, the filter has the potential to make a weak cup of coffee. The filter can hold about 2.5 tablespoons of coffee grounds. There are markings on it for 1 and 2 tablespoons. If you fill it up to either of those locations, the coffee will be pretty weak. This is fine if, like my dad, you like weak coffee. However, if, like me, you like your coffee strong, you're gonna have to fill it all the way to the top. The instructions say not to compact the coffee into the filter; however, I recommend that you make sure that the coffee is nice and snug and to the top. I press it down pretty good with the spoon. Basically, if you don't have it filled to the top, the water leaks around the side before it goes through the beans and it seriously dilutes down your coffee. But if you do it right, you'll easily get a pretty strong and good-tasting cup of coffee. The Keurig M K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter does what it advertises: It allows you to use your Keurig brewer on your own beans...and it does it pretty well.

A necessary accessory!
After a few weeks of using the Keurig K45 Elite Brewing System, and subsequently running into the issue of K-Cups not being the most cost-effective products on the market (unless they are on sale), I decided to try out the Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter. Although the removal of the black plastic piece within which the commercial K-Cups sit is not as smooth a process as it could be, the "fill-up", assembly, and insertion of the reusable coffee filter is otherwise pretty simple. After accounting for a few issues, which I'll discuss below, the reusable coffee filter has proven itself a useful, cheap, effective, and an all around quality purchase. As such, following the initial purchase of this reusable filter, and a dozen rounds of coffee brewing, I've found a few steps could be added to the process of using this filter in order to prevent issues such as splashing water, grounds in the coffee mug, and low strength coffee. First, concerning the splashing water and grounds in the coffee, these can be addressed through the adjustment of the black (round) rubber gasket, located under the lid, which surrounds the "needle" or water spout which punctures/inserts into the K-Cups and reusable filters. Carefully/softly pull the gasket down no more than a millimeter or two and this will create the pressurized seal that the low seated reusable filter needs (as compared to the ordinary K-Cups which sit higher or closer to the gasket's original position). With this adjustment creating the necessary pressurized seal, you can now fill the reusable filter to the very top while continuously tamping the grounds in order to tightly pack as many grounds as possible into the filter. This will allow for stronger coffee as the water goes through the filter. For even stronger coffee, please see the reviews concerning utilization of the used commercial K-Cup shells. As of the writing of this review, I've gotten one of these for a friend and my grandmother as well. Very reliable, efficient, and well made. Definitely a great purchase to go with your Keurig! Happy brewing!

Just what I needed!
Bought a Keurig coffee machine (US version) whilst on holiday and wanted a refillable filter to use with it. This works perfectly!

Fresh Coffee!
A great little item when purchased on sale. A little pricey at retail though. This was extremely simple to install and use. It works exactly like one of the kcups only you're using your own grounds. It took about 2 tablespoons to fill and was very easy to clean after use. It is much cheaper than buying the kcups and you gain the advantage of more flavors. Nothing comes close to the taste of fresh ground coffee beans. Nothing! Even the smell is better. If you have a Keurig and really enjoy a great cup of coffee than I think you will be happy with this product. It allows you to add more flavor options to your menu and the freshness of those flavors is unmatched. Just make sure you buy it on sale because the MSRP is a bit of a joke for this little filter.
