What is the expiration date on the hand warmers? How long will they last unopened?

I just tried one factory sealed warmer with expiration date of 2016 (this is 2023, so 7 years past expiration) and it did not warm at all.

It doesn't stick to your hand. It is a small packet that creates heat. Either place in a glove, which would be a bit lumpy, or place in coat pocket which makes a nice warm up hutch for your hands.
