Oopsmark's Leather Belt Sheath & Knife Case, Not associated with Opinel S.A.S - #8 - Brown

Opinel knives are very low priced, compared to the quality you get from other folding knives at similar price. But they have just offered some very classy inlaid wood handles in size #8. This sheath is nicely made and looks good. My old and grey #7 fits in it just fine, and the new 'inox' (French version of stainless steel) with the fancy handle fits as well. the Opinel design is very light weight and I hardly notice it on my belt. Most 'belt knives' are a much heavier load.

I was reluctant to purchase this due to the price, but it had such a clean look I went for it. Very pleased with the craftsmanship, and it's real leather! Once it loosenes up, you will be able to pull the knife out easily. I quickened the process by putting my Opinel #8 in the sheath upside down as far as I could without forcing it, and letting it sit for a bit. Its works like a champ, holds my knife secure and releases with just the right amount of force. I really enjoy carrying my Opinel #8 this way. I really feel, due to the professionalism of the stitching, this sheath will outlast quite a few knives. Due to the slim design, it tucks close to your belt loop and I haven't snagged it on anything.

The craftsmanship is good and so is the quality of this product but i gave it 3 stars because the fitment is horrible. Took quite some strength to get the knife in there to be seated properly and the same with taking it out, i mean it should definitely not be that hard!! Sheath should've been made bigger by not much. I had to return it.

I ordered the #8 sheath to go with my #8 Opinel. The fit is far too tight for a #8 given how thin the leather is and how barebones the stitching is. The sheath feels as though it may rip apart at any moment when I try to remove the knife while it's attached to my belt. It might reasonably hold an Opinel #7, but for the money, I would look elsewhere.

Good quality thick leather holds up great good craftsmanship it’s a little tight when you get it but loosens up quick with use I have used it for several months never had my knife fall out or get lost and it holds it very snug

Not a very good leather, but even worse was the fact that my #8 Opinel would not even fit halfway into the sheath. I’d hoped to give my upgraded wood and black blade a home, but it will have to remain in its small pull-top bag. More trouble than its worth to send it back.

Bought this for an Opinel 8.More than a tight fit.The leather is fair but the thread is substandard.Over priced for what you are getting.I ordered another one from another source.It was cheaper and very well made.Don't waste your money.

I have not been able to fit my number 8 knife into the case. I will keep trying but the leather will have to stretch to fit the folded knife.

This sheath is sewn together which, if you are actually using the knife every day and not just admiring it, means it will go at the tip end. This is exactly what happened to mine 24 hours after buying it. The thing needs a good strong rivet or two to protect the seam. Don't waste your money.

Leider kann ich nicht mal mit Gewalt das Opinel Nr. 8 in das Etui bekommen. Trotzdem behalte ich es, weil das Kindermesser sehr gut rein passt und die Verarbeitung sehr schön ist. Wer das Etui für die Nr. 8 braucht, wird, so wie ich enttäuscht sein. Schade.

Das Leder ist dünn und hart. Kommt vollkommen flach an und ist in keinster weise "vorgeformt". Der Briefumschlag war so dünn, das ich dachte er ist leer. Sofort zurück geschickt.

Sheath is too tight for No 8.I returned item and bought a Ruko generic sheath from Amazon for far less and my No8 fits into it nicely and can be easily withdrawn. Ruko sheath is well made for the price.

Leider hat die Messer-Lederhülle so gar nicht gepasst. Also habe ich sie mit einweichen, hämmern und Lederfett größer und passend gemacht. Den Preis für so viel Doing-Myself finde ich eher unangemessen. Aber: Ich weiß ja, wa szu tun ist und daher liegt das Stück nicht in der Ecke, sondern wird auch genutzt.
