Stunning reference picture quality.
The guys & gals at Richer Sounds always deliver, my purchase turned up promptly with no issues whatsoever. Regarding the item I bought this is the reference 4K bluray player with many other features to boot on the market today, yes it's expensive but worth every penny. This is a premium product in every sense of the word, & my god it has some heft to it. The picture quality is stunning to a level no streaming platform can get anywhere near whether its 4K, UHD, HDR or Dolby Vision due to internet bandwidth limitations. Physical media is always the way to go in my opinion if you want the best picture quality possible & this thing is right on point. Stunning.

Expensive but worth it
Great player and very well built. Picture quality is hard to discern from it’s cheaper brother, the UB820, but sound quality is a definite step up, particularly through its analogue output. The remote control is also superior to the lower priced model, though it’s compatible with the 820 and reasonably priced, so is a worthwhile upgrade if you wanted to pick it up.For most people, the UB820 is going to be a better proposition, but for those that don’t mind paying extra for better build and slightly better performance, plus a few features you will likely not use, then this player won’t disappoint.

Flawed
This machine is beautifully and robustly constructed with a good, full size remote. The two core functions – picture and sound – are both superb. However, at this price the machine should have both DVD-A and SACD but it has neither: I’m sure that the type of person who goes for this top end quality may well have a collection of discs in these formats. This is also the worst player I have encountered for refusing to play many home-made discs. For example, I have worked out how to make 5.1 /7.1 compilation discs in wav format from multi-channel sources, but this machine won’t play them even though they play on the cheapest machines I have used. There are many other home-made discs it refuses to play that other machines play happily: this is a serious issue. It also refuses to play the audio on a significant number of MKV files: "audio format not supported". So, apart from picture and sound, my old Oppo, non 4K, wipes the floor with this Panasonic, even to its superior graphics.

Superb UHD player. Pricey, but you get what you pay for!
This was purchased to replace an Oppo 203 player, since Oppo withdrew from this market. The player was expensive, but that's what you expect at this level. The picture is superb, if anything marginally superior superior to the Oppo, with plenty of user adjustments to fine tune. To my ears the HDMI sound was pretty much the same as the Oppo (excellent). and I don't use the analogue outputs. The remote control is very good, with tactile buttons and a backlight. If I wanted to nitpick, I would say that the lack of an HDMI input would give less flexibility, but since I didn't use this function on the Oppo it made no difference to me.

A great player.
Having used a Oppo BDP-103D since its release I decided it's time to get a 4k player. The Panasonic has so many settings to adjust just about everything coming off a disc. It's well built machine and heavy too.Using a 65" HDR10+ TV I can't really see a big improvement over blurays from the Oppo, but have only calibrated TV using the Spears and Munsil 1080p bluray. Will get the 4K calibration disc to get the HDR settings perfect and update review. The audio side of this player is amazing.Movies sound great and CD's sound much clearer then Oppo. The Panasonic played a DVD my Oppo has always frozen then stopped at a certain chapter.
