Pelican1500-500-000 1500D, Desiccant, All Cases.

Very useful and in my environment lasts a long time between need to recharge, which I do in a toaster oven at a low setting. It is compact and perfect to control humidity in a sealed ammo box.

Wish I had know about these years ago. I have one in a fireproof safe and one in a water-tight case. Awesome product and works well. Love that I can use it again and again (easy to dry out in the oven).

I bought the pelican brand shipped by amazon because I wanted to be really sure I'm getting a quality product. After all I bought a pelican case to store several thousand dollars worth of equipment. Why cheap-out on $4 savings by buying an off brand. Its not that I don't think an off-brand won't work, its just that you don't really know for sure if you'll end up with some quality issue.I stuck this in my pelican case 1560 (full of equipment with) a humidity gauge. In the room it was reading %40RH. In the Pelican for the last day or so its been reading 35%RH (I've had to open the case a few times). However I don't know what the case was reading before I stuck it in. I don't know how fast Silica beads work. If the overall reading goes down over time, I'll know its working. I'll update when I have more data.The off-brand reviews comment on how flimsy the aluminum case are. I don't find the case on this one flimsy at all. It seems solid and well constructed with instructions on how to reactivate (300 deg 3 hours) when the beads turn clear printed on the case.The only reason this received 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because I paid for a brand name product and it doesn't say a lot on the packaging label as to who the manufacture is. I "assume" its Pelican brand, but this still might be off brand.

I placed this in my ammo bag where I have magazines filled and boxes sitting around for long periods of time. Ammo goes bad people! Keep moisture out! This is the cheapest and easiest way to do it. The cost is more than covered by the cost of wasted ammo.

This is exactly what's being sold on the Pelican website as the Pelican 1500D. So what's not to like?

This is NOT the pelican brand. If you are looking for pelican branded desiccant, this isn't it. I wrote to the vendor complaining that this is not what he advertised, but got no response. I would have bought somewhere else if I knew it wasn't Pelican brand.
