K&N Cold Air Intake System: High-Flow Air Filter, Increase Performance & Towing: Compatible with 2005-2019 Nissan: Frontier,Pathfinder, Xterra, 77-6014-1KP

Increased MPG's and gave my 08 frontier a quicker response time on the pedal. Not to mention the cool sound it gives off when when you raise the RPM's. Would buy it again.

Installed on a 2018 Nissan Frontier with 4.0 liter engine. Went on with no issue, sounds good, mileage to be determined. HOWEVER, the front motor cover on this model has the filter air tube as part of the assembly. You can not re-install the front motor cover after install of the K&N intake system. So now there is a gaping hole where the motor cover should be. I will look around. Maybe a older model front engine cover will fit ??

Product came in damaged. I installed it thinking the dimensions wouldn't affect the intake too drastically. All was good for about 6 weeks until it started making a squealing sound (like a kettle pot boiling type of sound) once at 2000+ RPM. My sweet sports car sound was lost to an annoying squealing which is extremely annoying and loud. I contacted customer service and I am expecting a replacment. I did enjoy the great sound and throttle response while it lasted though! I will update my review once I obtain a replacement. Update: Customer service was spectacular and I received my replacement after 5 days. The issue was resolved.

Right out of the box this thing is big and very nice looking. You will need to put this together a bit. Not to tough but expect to take some time to do this part. Everything is pretty much bolt in once you have all the parts and pieces together. Got this thing on my 2012 Frontier. It is louder than I expected and the tone kinda gives me a headache. I miss my quiet ride. I have had it on my truck for about 3-4 weeks. I have went from 15.4 mpg to 15.6 on average so that is good. The agressive sound at first led me to stomping the gas to get the most noise out of the air filter - for fun - but my head is taking a pounding from the tone and noise. On the verge of putting the stock air intake with a K&N high performance air cleaner due to the noise. SO if you love your quiet cabin maybe look at the K&N high performance air cleaner vice the louder air sucking beauty. If you are looking for some noice go with the flowmaster. Your choice good luck.

When I opened the box I was disappointed to find the metal tubing bent, but installed it anyway. Installation wasn’t very hard at all. My main problem is that I now have a persistent Check Engine Light for a massage flow sensor after changing the sensor and even bringing my Frontier to the Nissan dealership. The extra power and noise is just not worth the check engine light to me!

Takes minute to throttle response

After 4 months the engine light came on and my mechanic told me the MAS was telling the engine that it was lean and that it was adding more gas when it wasn't needed. He put the original system back on and the XTerra and it ran perfect. I wrote an email to K&N telling them the problem and in a few days they contacted me, got some details and sent me a different unit - unheard of!! They really take care of their customers! Now, mind you, I haven't gotten enough information from the new unit, but on the old, I got an extra 3mpg and never felt the utility trailer when pulling it.

K&N does a super job of making its intake system fit perfectly and with minimal installation time. It is relatively quiet and looks great also. The truck breathes easier and power or fuel savings are more subjective than measurable.
