This appears to work great. The only issue I found is the friction adjustment is marked in reverse (maybe the "+" means more free moving). I have it set to hold the charging plug up out of the way, but easy to pull down and plug into the car with minimum pull while plugged in.

I have several of these in my workshop Of different sizes and strengths they work great.

Tried another brand and it was bad. Setup to keep the plug of our EV charger cable suspended from the ceiling of our garage. Works great, easy to pull down when plugging in, easy to retract. Holds about 4ft of cable plus the plug beyond the attachment point. It’s great to be able to keep the cable off the floor!

Keeps the charging cable overhead until needed. Perfect solution.

This is a real tool. It appears to be made to last. Works perfectly to hold my EV charging cable from the ceiling.
