Impressed - yes I am
This little heater is absolutely amazing. Great price, puts out lots of heat. I use it in my garage "office" - a space carved out in an otherwise unheated area and it keeps me comfortable. Florida is indeed the land of the sun, but here in St. Petersburg, we still get some cool, cool cold fronts that bring chilling winds and temps into the 50s and sometimes the 40s. I know that may sound like Nirvana to somebody in Iowa or Michigan (and I know what I'm talking about because I lived in both states for a few years) but to Florida people, those 50s are not too comfortable. At least with this heater, I am impressed - great name, the Impress. That's what it's done for me. We liked it so much we bought a second one for my wife's office space in the house. "Nuf said?

Hot and Cold and a reasonable price -- Just like Mom's love!
So...my boyfriend is always cold, and I'm always sweating. It's a match made in hell. But this fan is EXACTLY what we needed. He uses it at his desk with the heater function on, and at night, I have it just on normal fan mode, blowing on my so I don't pass out and die. It's sturdy and solid. One of the safety features is the only thing that makes it slightly annoying: There's a trigger on the bottom that needs to be depressed to turn on (so, in case it falls over, it doesn't catch the house on fire.) But that means that if it's not sitting perfectly on a solid surface, it won't turn on. A tiny negative for such a big positive.*****UPDATE***** I purchased 2 of these (one for work and one for home), and after a year of use, both have stopped working due to the safety switch on the bottom of the unit no longer functioning. It's unrepairable. So, maybe not as much of a hit as before, since both have now died after a year and both have to be replaced.

Great heater, solves two problems UPDATE
First problem was when I ordered a ceramic heater. Although they are smaller than the regular fan heater, they always make more noise, since the air gets pushed through smaller spaces and makes more of a rushing noise. So, got rid of the ceramic heater.Secondly, I bought a regular fan heater, but with digital electronic controls. Big mistake. The thermostat on the heater never really worked properly; and the digital controls on the replacement heater gave out entirely. That taught me that, on an item as cheap as these fan heaters are, avoid digital controls or anything fancy. This brings me to the ImpressImpress 1500-watt Space Heater with a Quiet Fan and Adjustable Thermostat. Great little heater! All-manual controls; so no fancy electronics to go wrong. Quiet when running. Compact size. Has a fan-only setting, which many heaters don't.Only possible downside is the carrying handle which seems a bit undersized.(Some review say that the heater fails. From my reading of many reviews of all kinds of electric and electronic equipment, I think you can expect anywhere from 5 to 10 percent to fail: After all, they are all made by overworked sons and daughters of Chinese peasants working in stressful environments. This keeps prices almost ridiculously low, but then you have to put up with a certain failure rate.)Recently purchased a second one of these heaters. Both are working great. Highly recommended!UPDATE: After regular daily use, one of the heaters gave out. I believe the problem was that my wife was used to flipping the four-stage switch (off, fan only, heat 1, heat 2) from off to heat2 in half a second. An electrician friend told me that it's important to give the fan-only setting a few seconds to get the fan actually running, and THEN you can switch to the heat settings. Something to do with too much current running throught the motor coil, which burns it out, if you don't do that. More expensive fans may have sophisticated electronics inside that take care of that problem, but cheap heaters usually don't because of the cost.

Thermostats do not function properly-it's either on or off all the time.
I bought 2 of these and they both behave the same: Thermostat is either on or off all the time, does not actually control the temp like all my other space heaters. So if you want a space heater that has to be either on or off at all times without the thermostat actually functioning as it should, this is the space heater for you.I bought them because they have the low 750 watt setting to save power, and to run it in a motor home which uses only one 110 outlet source, so it's easy to throw a breaker. Too bad the thermostat does not function properly. The high/1500 watt setting is not as hot as my other 1500 watt heater.Very small and light.I would not buy again. Too cheap to return waste of time at least they do put some heat out and are small and I can run them on the 750 setting.

I sit in an open "bull pen" like area, and it sits under my desks and ...
I use this almost every day (even in the summer) at my office. I sit in an open "bull pen" like area, and it sits under my desks and points at my feet/legs, does a great job of keeping me nice and warm! It does have a little bit of a funny smell when you first turn it on, or anytime you turn it on HIGH. But it goes away. The smell is like burning, or when you turn on your heater at home after not using it all summer.Safety FYI - when it tips over it doesnt turn off, at least not immediately, so this could be a potential safety risk. I've also left it on accidentally and gone home, and when I came back to the office 10+ hours later it was still on! So it doesnt seem to have an auto shut off feature either.
