I Really Want a Combination of This and Another Case
For this review, I'm actually going to review two cases at once and let you make up your mind between the two options when purchasing. For reference, I also purchased the Anymode Diary Folio since I wasn't sure which one I really wanted. To view that one, click the following link: Anymode Faux Leather Frame Diary Folio Cover Case for Apple iPhone 5 (Gray) The diary folio is great in that it has a cover to protect your screen at all time and a clasp that keeps it closed, which is something that the Vent Folio doesn't have meaning it's constantly flipping open.I thought that once broken in the cover would lose a little bit of "memory" and tend to stay in the position it was currently in. Unfortunately, it usually ended up being a combination of open and closed. I combated this by placing it face down, but a clasp would have been ideal. The downside of the Diary folio is that it's designed to carry cards around in as well as your phone. This means that there's a good 1/4" to 1/2" of space between the cover and screen when it's closed. The Vent Folio doesn't have this issue and the form factor is much thinner and adds a lot less bulk to your phone than the Diary does. Both versions do have the same trouble when it comes to actually using your phone. The covers always flip backward, but actually reaching all areas of your screen while still holding onto the phone can be pretty tricky, and cause you to really strain to reach the far edges. They do both have a hole near the earpiece so you can still talk with the cover closed. My ideal case would be a combination of the two. The form factor of the Vent Folio with the clasp and material from the Diary Folio. Neither are a bad option, but they both have their downsides.Note: The Diary Folio is meant to keep cards in, but the clasp works by using a magnet. You will have to be VERY careful not place your credit cards the wrong way and accidentally de-magnetize the strip on them.)Pros: Very slim case with solid construction and a unique look. Keeps buttons easily accessible even when closed.Cons: Cover has trouble deciding whether it wants to be opened or closed when just sitting on a desk. A little tricky to use one-handed when cover is folded back.Bottom Line: Slightly awkward to use, but ultimately doesn't add much bulk to your phone. Good screen protection.

Tough case, takes some time getting used to
I tried this case on my iPhone 5 because I wanted the flip cover. I like that the flip cover protects the screen when it is in my bag or my pocket. The textures on the cover are great and different than any other case I have used. It protects the corners of the phone when dropped but still provides access to the charger, speaker, headphone jack, silent switch, lock button and the camera. The white color gets dirty pretty easily, but cleans easily with some rubbing alcohol. The flip ended up being a lot more inconvenient than I had hoped. At first it took some time for the hinge of the flip to lay flat and it sometimes doesn't immediately lay flat after being bent backward. I didn't realize how much I checked my phone or talked on it. It is awkward to use the flip while talking on the phone or camera.Still, I really like the way it protects and the texture and feel of the case. It just takes some time to get used to.
