Hi is this cream hypoallergenic?

I wouldn’t think so as it contains essential oils and lanolin,which can cause allergies. Having said that I have eczema and very sensitive skin and I love it. Very nourishing.

How come can this be hydrating for dry sky if the fifth ingredient is alcohol?

"Weleda uses alcohol mainly for its extractive and preservation properties. It also helps the consistency and lifts the fragrance. The alcohol used in Weleda toiletries is fermentation grade ethyl alcohol, which is produced by fermenting organic plant sugars. Weleda do not use propyl alcohol which is derived from petroleum. Purely natural toiletries that contain plant extracts will more than likely contain alcohol. Companies where synthetic substances are permitted could use chemical extractions but when working with only natural ingredients, water/alcohol extractions are normally used. For some plant materials, water alone would work as an extraction agent but in order to give a shelf life of more than a few months, a synthetic preservative would have to be used. Alcohol does have some benefits for the skin. It is mildly disinfectant and also cooling. The alcohol content in Weleda Body Therapy products does not destroy the skin’s natural oily cover, the acid mantle. In cases where people are allergic to alcohol, we advise them to patch test the chosen Weleda product on a small area on the inner wrist."

Love this cream, it’s a quality product that leaves the skin feeling very moisturised. The light version soaks in easily and is perfect for both day under makeup or at night. Product is packed with organic natural ingredients plus it smells great! Doesn’t include spf so need to add spf for daytime use.

I use Weleda skin food every morning before applying my makeup. You really don’t need to use a lot and it goes a long way. I have never found it to be greasy and it’s a good base before applying makeup. It’s not runny and really easy to apply. I have used this for 2 years now, love the smell and my skin is lovely and soft.
