Great tires.
Well over a thousand miles, barbed wire and still going strong.

Strange Tire Size, but very good tire
I have a 29" mountain bike that I mostly use for street riding these days. Because of this, I've been buying smoother tires but still like tires that are close to 2 inches wide. I selected the Schwalbe Marathon because of tread pattern and how I felt it would perform on asphalt that sometimes has fine sand on it (I live near the beach in FL so this is of particular concern). However I've never seen a tire size of "29 x 2/3". I found a reviewer who said he looked up the product number and it matched what I was seeking so I bought two of them even though I was doubtful the tires would be the right size. When the tires arrived, they were clearly labelled with the following sizes: "700 x 50c" (50-622)" as well as "50-622 28 x 2.00". I almost returned them straight away but decided to at least see how close they were to what I needed. As it turns out, they actually fit my 29" wheel! Both old and new tires bear the 50-622 text but the other sizes are clearly not the same. Evidently, I don't know enough about bike tire sizing... The width of the tire, when inflated, is exactly 1 7/8" (1.875") or 47.6mm. This is 1/8" narrower than my old tires but not so much that they look too thin to be on a mountain bike.Overall, and now that they're mounted, I really like the Marathons. They're smooth and fast-rolling and are easier to seat on the rim than my Surfas tires so they're much easier to balance. I've only gone on two 15-mile rides so far but I like them already. If they last, I'll keep buying these - time will tell.UPDATE: (Dec 2020 - after 8 months of use) These are my new favorite tires. They perform very well on wet, dry, and sandy roads as well as dry dirt trails. These are my new go-to tires!

not the lightest gals at the ball
These tires are certainly not the lightest gals at the ball, but if you are looking for puncture protection, they are the way to go. I use them for commuting on various city streets and country roads both rife with opportunities for tire damage - few things are worse than dealing with a flat especially going to/from work. They also have relatively low rolling resistance to ease the way. The reflective sidewalls are a plus during dark morning commutes. A little pricy but if I had a bicycle shop they would be in my stock.

Misleading tire markings
I purchased these tires for a 29" MB. When they arrived, they were clearly marked 28" x 2". I was alarmed that I had ordered 29" and received 28". Then I remembered that I had actually ordered 700c, and this is a match for a 29" rim, but may have a smaller outer diameter - so I tried it. The tires fit the 29" rims perfectly, and my MB now has road tires. This is exactly the solution I was looking for.

Good for touring
I ordered Schwable 52-622 29-2 tire. Tires I received are 50-622 28-2. According to schwable.com both tires can be installed on the same rim. 622 is the inner size of the tire. 28-2 commonly used on the touring bikes, which is what I’m going to use. The outer size is a little smaller which is good for the overall weight. On purpose or unintentionally the seller did me a favor. So after a little research I decided to keep tires and not to go through return process. 5 stars for tire, and you decide how many stars for the seller.

Changing from knobbies was a good idea
I can ride like the wind! All the way to the Post Office with no pedaling! These things pedal themselves! The whitewalls are kind of jive, though. Why not red?

These tires are the perfect and rare road slicks for 650B wheels
These tires are the perfect and rare road slicks for 650B wheels. Max PSI is 80 PSI. They are fast and are rather easy to handle. There's nothing much more to say. They are great tires. It is not hard to fit the tires on wheels. I also managed to use them with a traditional mountain bike 650B (27") inner tubes with a width of 1.9" - 2.3" even though these tires are only 1.6" wide. Just have to be extra careful when fitting them to ensure no pinch flats. (I have purchased narrow inner tubes as well just in case - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CJV9JO)
