When I was twelve, a fortune teller told me that my one true love would die young and leave me all alone. Everyone said she was a fraud, that she was just making it up. I'd really like to know why the hell a person would make up a thing like that. Wry yet vulnerable, Beatrice Jordan isn't the sort of woman who usually answers personal ads but she is unable to resist the following: 'If your intentions are pure, I am seeking a friend for the end of the world.' In doing so, she meets Jacob Grace, a charming, effervescent thirty-something writer, a free spirit who is a passionate seeker of life. He possesses his own turn of phrase and ways of thinking and feeling that dissonantly harmonise with Beatrice's off-centre vision as they roller coaster through the joys and furies of their heart-wrenching romance. Along the way they try to come to terms with the hurt brought about by their distant fathers who, in different ways, forsook them. Read more

I was so excited when I finally found this book to buy. I'm sure you can imagine my disappointment when it arrived to discover it is God-Shaped Hole with a different title.Book was published in 2002 in the US as God Shaped Hole and in Great Britian 2002 as The Shape of my Heart.Great story, but save money and buy the US version.

What's the Shape of your Heart/
Tiffanie DeBartolo owns the written word. She paints a great love story using the written words as her colors. Her canvas of this story is engaging, witty and inspiring. You will fall in love with this story and find out what shape your heart is in!

A heart-wrenching affair to remember
"The Shape Of My Heart",DeBartolo's first novel,in my mind is simply superb. The plot is based around a couple,Jacob and Beatrice(better known throughout by Jacob as 'Trixie'),who fall in love after fate throws them together through a magazine dating service.Neither were particularly looking for love but you can tell from the start they are a match made in heaven. With DeBartolo's realistic ideas and cunning humour I can gauruntee you will not be able to put the book down.I would have given it a full 5 stars had it not been for one tiny thing:the ending. To me,there was no real closure but I shall leave that up to the individual to decide and in the meantime shall look out for any further novels written by the talented Tiffanie DeBartolo.

The Shape of my heart
Painfully poignant. My heart lurched with the emotions the characters were feeling and the wry, dry, highs and lows of the relationship described. None of this fluffy dipsy girly stuff, this book packed a punch and I was delighted id stumbled across it.
