Direct replacment for Club cart charger
Based on a you tube video suggesting that this part is the typical cause of the breaker tripping I ordered one. Heck for $9 vs $300-$500 for a replacement charger it is worth the risk.My old club cart charger that was constantly tripping the breaker within minutes of use. When I replaced the Rectifier with this, the charger ran through the night when sometime after several hours I found the breaker tripped in the AM. I presume this is running cooler and better regulation. When I added in the new relay and breaker with this, the charger works fine with no breaker tripping.

Fast Fix for Golf Cart Charger
Club car charger was tripping the inline fuse (reset button). After online research, I figured this quick fix was worth a shot before taking the charger to the golf cart shop. Simply remove the charger cover (12 screws) and pull the connections from the old rectifier. The rectifier is secured with a screw and nut. Make sure to keep the terminals and wires aligned to the their proper position. I snapped a quick cell phone pic for comparison. It is recommended to apply a thin layer of thermal paste to the back of the rectifier. The paste can be purchased separately and you only need a small amount. After swapping the rectifier out, the charger is now operating properly. This was an easy DIY fix for less than $20 and 15 mins of time.

Good, suitable replacement rectifier, but with plastic body as of this writing (1/8/19)
While the OEM rectifier in the Club car Powerdrive 2 charger has a full metal body like the one pictured in the seller's description (as of Jan 8, 2019), the rectifiers I received have a black plastic body with a metal back and are manufactured by ON Semiconductor. They are otherwise electrically identical to the OEM metal-body rectifiers and and work fine. This isn't a complaint, but just an an FYI if this is something that matters to you. As for the seller, United Metro Golf Cart Parts & Accessories in Vegas, I couldn't have asked for quicker service; the part was in my hands clear across the country - and installed - in less than 24 hours after I placed the order.. Not too shabby.

Saved the cost of a new charger
I was able to replace the part on my own without having to buy an expensive replacement charger. It was an exact replacement for a rectifier that wore out on 2005 club car charger. Glad I could find it since I live in a remote location.

it works
I have five yr old battery charger, no-name brand, it won't charge. asked our golf cart person who is well known as an expert, after reading the brand, he declared non-fixable. after googling I learned most of the problem with the charger is the rectifier. decided to try this one and it worked. it generates a lesser heat, charge faster than the one I bought a brand new one as a backup thru Amazon. I have no idea how long this honeymoon will last and now I have two chargers. the shape of the prongs are a little different from the original one but I made sure the orientation to be exact, now I don't know what to do with two chargers. it seems not right to return one just because I fixed the broken one on my own.
