I was distracted and turned off by the poor formatting for Kindle reading. It looks as though someone cut-and-pasted from another document and thought everything would transfer perfectly for Kindle reading. It doesn't work that way.

There is nothing like starting a new business, but so often those businesses are started with little or no real planning. Kirk takes the reader through a very systematic, practical, and thorough step-by-step process from the germ of an idea to opening the doors.I particularly like the first 100 pages. The reader is asked to take a deep look at issues surrounding aptitude, clarity of thinking, and even how hard they will be willing to work and persist. Business is hard and many fail. This book should help many to beat the odds and get a successful start.

As an accountant, I like to see a business book that focuses attention on budgeting, accounting and finance. This book delivers. Kirk makes those complex subjects easy-to-understand with simple examples and a tone that makes you want to sit down and have coffee with him.Often, the difference between a mediocre business and a thriving one is tweaking a few things. This book will give you hundreds of ideas. Pick a few and see results.I'll recommend this book to all my clients.

This book contains valuable information to those starting up new businesses. I am now in my second year of my 3rd business. I wish I had this information before starting my first business in 2003 because it would have saved me a lot of time and headaches!
