Love the open bug net on roof panels on this model
We had ours now for almost five years and still love it. Our favorite feature is the open screen in the ceiling. This is unique with this model and it gives us so much more viewing of trees and sky and it keeps canopy cooler. Downside is you need to purchase a separate rain tarp and this canopy is hard to transport because it is so tall.Ease of setup / take down: Excellent - incredibly easy ONCE you know how to do it. Watch a video and practice in your back yard.Functionality: Excellent - Love having shelter from the bugs and extra view plus heat escape with mesh sky panels. Also size is great for offering plenty of space to spread out / eat / sleep etc.Waterproof: OK - but you Need to purchase a separate rain tarp. We also purchased storm walls which are handy if its really windy.Value for Money: Good - it's expensive especially when you add rain tarp but ours has lasted very well over five years. To keep it lasting many years you need to be sure to let it dry out completely before you store it.Portability: Poor. This thing is long and it is heavy. Hard to see how you transport this in even an medium SUV unless you put down a seat. My wife and I keep it in the above cab section of our class C RV and pull it out whenever their are bugs in the campsite (which is often in the PNW).

Camping necessity
This thing has caused me to completely reevaluate my car camping equipment. No poles, generous bag, 2 minutes up, 2 minutes down. No poles, no fighting to get it back into the bag, 0 hassle. This, along with another product that I purchased with a similar set up has inspired me to research other hexagonial pop up tents to make camp setup a breeze. Our group stayed bite free in one of the most mosquito infested camp sites we've ever been to (we knew about the mosquito swarms ahead of time, so we purchased this anticipating them.) Combine this with an electric swatter to get the few that inevitably come through the door when people are passing through and enjoy a big free camping experience with no forest ecology destroying pesticides required.Side note: it seemed obvious to me based on the picture as well as the product description, but this is the base model with none of the windbreaks, floor, or rain fly included. What you see pictured is what you get.

Not easy to setup. Support wanted me to disassembe the entire thing and fix it
I tried to setup this tent as soon as i got it. It was a nightmare. It finally got setup but completely inside out. Contacting support they wanted me to REMOVE EVERY SINGLE TENT POLE, Reverse the fabric, fling it over a ladder and then reassemble the whole thing. This tent is massive and it would take me hours to reassemble it.On top of that there was stitching coming out and overall didn't live up to the expectations from the reviews I have seen.

Not easy as they say
Got it three weeks ago and we put back in bag, not easy as they say, waiting for neighbors to help us figure it out

Awesome for RV-ers!
Having a Clam really extends your rv living space, giving you an entire outdoor room. We used ours for 2 weeks this fall in two separate National Parks. Easily fit 2 zero gravity recliners, a side table, 2 regular camp chairs, and a 6' folding table. Allows us to sit outdoors in the evenings without having to coat ourselves with Deet! We ordered the "Sky" model, but with a roof we can put on if rain is in the forecast. Having read many rvers reviews of heat building up inside, we found the mesh ceiling kept us nice and cool. Get one, you will love it! Oh - but read the directions before you eagerly take it out and start setting it up. Many tears later and a phone call to the Clam company, and we sorted ours out - but because we got started without reading the directions first, we had twisted it up accidentally! Thanks, Clam!

Seems like good build quality
I have not had a chance to use this yet as there is still 3 feet of snow on the ground here in Alaska. That being said, it appears to be of good quality but will know more once I set it up and use it this summer. If it keeps me bug free here in Alaska, then it will work anywhere! Did not give it 5 stars because I have not used it yet but will revisit here once I use it.

Sturdy, Flexible Shelter
The picture shows the shelter with the optional sides and fly for the roof. Once you get the hang of it, the shelter is easy to set up. Properly anchored, it stay put. On a recent trip, winds gusted to 30 mph and the shelter stayed put! There are stake holder on each corner a the base and there is a guy line that you can place at each set-up joint. It keeps the bugs out. With the cover for the roof, it protects from rain and shine. The sides provide shelter from the wind and rain. I have four side panels and found that to be sufficient for my needs of providing shelter from the wind. I find I can have the shelter set up in about 10 mins and it is a great addition to our camp site everywhere we go.

Watch video on how to set up - then enjoy bug free outdoors!
Watch the video on how to set it up before you attempt it. I accidentally set it up inside out (which was very hard to do). I can attest to the strength of the screen as I had to stretch it to get the tent right side out again. Once I did that I was able to set it up myself in a few minutes. I'm about 5'6" and was able to push the top up myself. I'm so glad I got this version with the screen around the top part. It makes it out feel so much more open (and larger).
