Omnitech Battery-Operated Pencil Sharpener

This is a fast way to sharpen pencils. I just hate having to change batteries out but love not having to plug it in. So its portable and convenient.

Even with fresh batteries (4 AA), this sharpener has barely enough power to sharpen and stalls frequently. The waste receptacle is small and open in the back so spills easily when emptying. It is also cheaply made and if a tab breaks off the receptacle it won't turn on anymore - unless you jam something in the sensor hole, bypassing the safety feature.I recommend trying another. If you have access to an outlet, try the  X-Acto Electric Pencil Sharpener (1818) .Otherwise, consider the  X-Acto Model KS Table- or Wall-Mount Pencil Sharpener (1031) .

Bought a blue one from Office Depot that died after ~6 months of use.It used to sharpen unevenly anyway, but now the sharpening blade is out of position, so that the motor still turns, but there's no sharpening happening.I changed the batteries once since the initial set, so power usage is fair.I have my eye on a replacement with a 2 year warranty... even at twice the price, it will last 4 times as long.Good luck!JP

My husband bought one of these (in pink) at Staples for our daughter. It is horrible. Doesn't sharpen at all. Worthless!!!

Surprised by the other reviews, mine works great. Gets daily use by me in my classroom.

I have two elementary aged kids and we need to sharpen pencils alot!! I got one of these and have used it for the last year and a half on a weekly basis. Sharpens to a fine point and we've had no problems whatsoever. I just came to Amazon to look for a second one so each kid could have one. I can't believe the other reviews. In any case, our Omnitech is terrific!

this works great for me as an artist supply for my colored pencils !
