Unfortunately mine didn't work with Windows 8.1 on HP Split X2 fed into overhead projector via VGA. Video would display on screen for an instant, then image would be lost - PC thought it disconnected, and restored its regular resolution. I tried toying with resolution and output settings, but no good. Seller immediately and effortlessly accepted my return and gave a full refund.

I should have read the description better. Since HDMI carries both video AND audio and there is no audio output on this adapter so, sound is muted when this is plugged in. It worked the,first two times I used it, since then no output of all. Stay away from this.

I used it to attach a desktop and laptop to one monitor/keyboard/mouse cables since my laptop only has HDMI connection, and this connector has been working perfectly since I first plugged it in. I have been using it with my laptop daily now for a couple months with no problems whatsoever. I am very happy with this purchase.

never worked fully (worked with monitors but not projectors) and died for good after 18 months

Product works great and was easy to set up. Original sent had an issue but vendor wad excellent to get a replacement sent ASAP.

I had a macbook pro (13 inch retina resolution) and apple tv to hook up to my acer computer monitor. The computer monitor did not recognize either one of the products. do not buy as it did not work for me

Excellent adapter, connected my laptop to a HDTV with PC monitor capabilities without issues. The adapter compares favorably to a mini diplay port to vga adapter purchased from a different seller. Easily stores in laptop bag. Recommend the adapter and seller.

I ordered 3, one was disassembled in the bag, further examination showed a cable had become unsoldered. The second adapter wasn't recognized by my computers properly, the third cable I just left alone in its bag.
