Takane 318HT with High Torque Hands 17-3/4" Kit comes with 318HT movement, mounting hardware, and 17-3/4" hands! Clock hands are measured from the center of the mounting hole of the minute hand to the tip of the minute hand. The 318 HT full size "C" cell powered models were designed specifically for use with today’s new larger clocks. They are the most powerful quartz movements on the market today, and they were designed to solve one of the primary assembly problems that confronts everyone making larger clocks-hour and minute hand spacing! All of the high torque movements on the market today share the same problem-they are just more powerful versions of regular movements designed to accommodate regular size hands. The 318 HT series movements were designed specifically for use with larger hands. The distance between where the hour and minute hands are installed has been increased! This increased distance will help to prevent longer hands from binding and leaves enough room to accommodate the counterweights that are commonly used on large minute hands. Thumb Dimensions: 2 1/4" w x 3 1/8" h x 1" d The most powerful quartz movements available today Increased spacing between hour and minute hands Threaded portion of shaft is 11/16" and overall length is 1-1/8" 7/16" Shaft diameter-American "I" Shaft Operates on 1 "C" cell battery for longer battery life (not included) listing by, Southeastern Clocks - proudly featured in Better Homes and Gardens Kitchen and Bath makeovers, Fall/Winter 2015 issue! Keeps time well so far.
Hey everyone, used this to create an epic clock for my band room (it's like 6 feet across!). It's been keeping solid time for a few months so far and it's pretty cool. My mom gave me random picture frames and I had no idea what to do with them...I was missing a small nut to secure the hands when the package was delivered. After contacting the company, they sent me the piece, no big deal.

The mechanism has trouble moving the hands, even trimming ...
The mechanism has trouble moving the hands, even trimming the second hand down by 2 inches. Ok for the price, but the second hand bobs during operation. After about a month of operations the mechanism stopped working. I left a review giving the product 2 stars because it was so cheap. The manufacturer contacted me saying that they were a family run company and poor reviews hurt their business. They said they were willing to ship a new mechanism to me for the broken one if I was willing to change my review. I gladly agreed due to respecting their dedication to their product. I changed me review due to a promise with customer service but never received the new mechanism. This is why I am changing my review from a previous 2 star to a one star. I don't like being lied too or misled.

Good kit, but take note!
Seems to be keeping the time and is simple to assemble. I read most of the reviews on this and have to say that I was surprised to learn something interesting that I did not read in any reviews. When you order the super long hands (17 3/4") you will have a slight pulsing that will happen with each second. You don't necessarily focus on it but you can certainly tell once you see it happening. This doesn't seem to affect the time on ours thus far. The metal on the hands is very thin. Also the hands (maybe because the size I ordered) do not sit securely on the shaft. There is quite a wobble to it which makes you have to play with how the hands bend once you set the clock up on the wall. There really are not many other suppliers out there that offer this size so that's why I ordered these. Customer service sent me a mechanism replacement at no cost to see if it worked better. All in all its a good kit for the price and I will probably order again. Maybe smaller hands. Project turned out great and the customer who ordered the clock is happy!

Keeps perfect time
Have it on a 4' x 4' clock face made from antique tin ceiling tile. Works great, and keeps perfect time.

Concern with lateral movement of stem
Just installed the clock works this past weekend on a wall clock that I made. The clock mechanism was easily installed, seems to work ok, but I do have some concern with the lateral movement of the stem with the hands connected. Hopefully, this will not limit the life of the clock mechanism.

Wrong size
Got a 23 inch not 17 inch. Had to cut to fit but doesn't look as nice.
