Great item to have for camera rigs
This is a great item to have handy when building up your rig. I use it with my Sony FX-3 and an older shoulder mount. It works great. I've also taken it apart and used the pieces to jerry-rig other stuff I've needed, and then put it back together afterwards. Small Rig makes well-made products, and the quality is top notch. It feels like you can take apart and put together over and over and it will last. So far no complaints. Good stuff.

Perfect Height Adjustable Rail Support
I bought a Fotga Matte box, but my Fuji X-H1 in the Small Rig cage was too low with just the rail adapter on the cage. I looked for an adjustable rail support and this fit the bill. There was another brand on Amazon for about half the price, but I didn't like the design as well. Besides, I've been very happy with the quality of the SmallRig products. As you can see, I can now adjust the height of the camera to perfectly place it with the matte box. My only niggle is the tightener for the height adjustment and the rail clamp sometimes bump into each other. I have to slightly loosen the rail clamp, adjust the height, then tighten back the rail clamp.

A must have for hybrid shooters!
This is a no-brainer. All the new camera rigs come with a built-in arca plate, it seems. All my video heads are Manfrotto. This is the slickest way to adapt them. There is no screwing and unscrewing plates to your rig! lock this bad boy into your video head, then slide your rig in. Fast easy, secure, and easy to pack along. I leave mine on my video head, but it is definitely portable. It is definitely worth its weight in gold. Though, I don't think the release button works/is needed. It locks into place securely with the cam. Th button is ... useless but ultimately not needed or an issue.

Good foundation for smaller rigs
This rail support system has adjustable height, which in my opinion are are going to want, whether you know it or not. It allows you to achieve “proper” LWS (lightweight support standard) dimensions between your rails and lens. LWS is just a standard, not a law, but you may find that things just tend to work out better if you have it right. My main criticism is the little extending “towers” that make the height adjustable do not seem to clamp down 100% securely to the base, so there is potentially a bit of rotational play (yaw). I was able to tighten down to my satisfaction, for now. But I probably would not put a large heavy camera system on top of this. I have a Sony A6600, with Meike cine lenses, Smallrig cage and handle, and an Atomos monitor atop it. I think most small DSLR-based systems would be OK, but one should avoid hanging a lot of weight off the front of your camera (for both the camera’s benefit, and to avoid too much stress on this rail support). In my case, I use an LWS support for my Tilta matte box, which helps distribute weight.

SmallRig Support for the Elgato Prompter
I built an "All-In-One YouTube Studio" on a light stand. Part of that setup includes a lens mounted Elgato Prompter. I decided to support the camera and lens with a SmallRig 15mm support system. Here are the SmallRig parts: 1. DH10 Heavy Duty Tripod Fluid Head 2. 5" Quick Release Plate for Manfrotto 3. Universal 15mm Rail Support System 4. Adjustable Lens Bracket 5. Two 15mm x 8" carbon fiber rods SmallRig parts are an industry standard and simply stated, they are high quality, durable, and economical. You can't go wrong with SmallRig parts for your camera needs! Now, I can rest assured that the camera and lens are properly supported when I attach the Elgato Prompter to the camera lens.

Not a good baseplate
Loose fit. Wobbly camera. Impossibly bad design.

Well made product. Impressed with the fine tolerances. Works well with my tripod and gimbal.

With the lever in the open position, but without pushing the secondary switch to fully open the clamp, the plate can still be easily removed. Even if you tighten it with the knob as much as possible before opening the lever, it can still slide off if you use a fairly slight upward motion once the plate touches the anti-off pin. I also tried the built-in arca plate on my Smallrig FX30/FX3 cage, but it also doesn't work with the anti-off pin. It just slides right beside the pin. I couldn't find a way to make it effective with any adjustments. On the plus side, the lever action feels solid and works better than some of the cheaper options I have tried before. So if you don't need the anti-off pin, like the arca/manfrotto flexibility, and don't mind how expensive it is, this could be a decent option.

Good quality. Best for smaller mirror less cameras to rig up. Smooth movement when adjusting. Great quality. Worth the buy.

Unless you use smallrig's plate you will have trouble if you use arca-swiss plate from other brand.

The side knob securing the rods broke after using 2 times.
