I recently purchased an 1899 Black Eagle silver certificate on eBay and wanted to be sure that it would be protected, so I picked up this item. It works wonderfully. Through a mechanism that I'm not quite sure of, it opens easily but closes very securely. The bill fits perfectly inside, and I have no doubt that it will protected for a very long time. The plastic is transparent but very solid. Overall, this is an excellent, excellent product.

I use this to hold  100 Trillion Dollars Zimbabwe Banknote UNC Hyperinflation Money , as those bills are larger than 'regular' United States bills. It works well, easy to open and put the bill in. Holds the bill solidly. Easy to take apart, but doesn't really come apart unless you're trying to make it come apart. Good bill holder, it's obviously not a super fancy glass holder, but it works quite well for the simple purpose of keeping a bill crisp.

A tad expensive, but it is of high quality and you pay for quality. If you have currency that needs protection, this is far better than a sleeve. I bought 20 normal size ones but couldn't find the option for these. They should offer that at a better price per holder.
