I was looking to replace my warm CFLs with LEDs but I needed short bulbs for the housings. The shortest I could find from a major manufacturer in the 800 lumen range were the Philips 455931 and the G7 Incline. I bought both of them to see which is best because I have several fixtures.In looks, the Philips almost looks like a regular bulb and the G7 has the fins. The Philips is 4.5" tall and the G7 is 4.7".I tested them in a candelabra fixture as it is open and has a light colored wall behind it. When on, they both have about the same brightness and spread pattern; in the picture, the Philips is down by about the difference in height. My wife felt the Philips had a bit of a glare. I changed the brightness of the picture (not the bulbs) and you can see that the Philips has a ring of light around the middle while the G7 is consistent across the bulb.I loved the G7s light and construction. Unfortunately, for this application, it was too tall. It fits, but I have to tighten the fixture screws to hold the globe in place. Fortunately, the globe filters some of the glare from the Philips bulb.
