Great cloth book for younger infants
My 4 month old daughter loves this book. It's the right size that she can turn the pages easily by herself and she loves the crinkly sound. She hasn't quite figured out how to work the squeaky sound and rattle yet. Sometimes she'll explore the different textures of the pages (felt, satiny, shiny, etc) but I have to show it to her and rub her fingers over it a few times first. Love that I can wash it because everything goes straight to her mouth these days.We started "reading" this book when she was a little over 2 months old, before she learned to grab things, and the colors caught her attention and got her excited every time. She prefers this over Squishy Turtle, I guess because Squishy Turtle is a bit more muted and she seems to really enjoy the very brightly colored books like those by Karen Katz

I love this book - I seem to have as much ...
I love this book - I seem to have as much fun with it as my baby does. I like that there is a lot "going on" on each page. It makes it interesting for me to read it over and over with the baby because I can make up new stories each time and point to different things on the pages (like the mouse or butterfly in the background) and explain what they are. It was nice to have on an airplane ride with the baby - doesn't take up too much space and can be squashed into the carry-on in a rush. Baby seems to love the crinkle sounds that the pages make.

We love this book!
Beautiful book! Wonderful 1st book for my baby to explore & play with. It has lots of different textures & features for him to explore without it being overwhelming for him. There's little tags on the sun & the pages rattles, squeaks & crinkles. There is also a velvety, scaly & satin page that he likes to chew & drool on. The animals are adorable, they are bright & colorful with these cute big eyes. It also has a very handy ring to clip on his car seat, swing & walker. I'm very happy with this product & decided to buy more Lamaze products (Freddie the firefly & Jacques the Peacock).

Not enough structure to support the flaps
This book is difficult to read with my 8-month old. We have many board books and fabric books with flaps that he enjoys. He loves to uncover the flaps and turn the pages but this book has no stucture, so all the flaps open and close as the pages are turned. Yes, the crinkle sounds are very enticing, but that is essentially the sole purpose of this book. (I also don't understand why the flaps have such weird shapes, but that's a minor annoyance.) I wanted to love this book but probably wouldn't buy it again.

Not the best Lamaze product, has some nice features but story is lacking
Bought this mainly so that baby can interact (lift flaps, feel texture and crinkled paper), and "play" with the book (pull, chew, etc) without ruining it.Pros: Cute animals and insects, very colorful, easy to clean (dunked it in slightly soapy water, rinsed a few times, rolled in towel to get excess water out, and laid flat to dry), has flaps and crinkled paper for baby to squeeze and lift (the firefly on the front cover has a fuzzy head), just long enough for a 12mo's attention span. Seems pretty durable.Cons: Honestly, it was a pretty dumb story. Also wished there was a bit more in terms of sensory and interactive features. I know it's a cloth book, but still wished there was a bit more structure to the pages (floppiness makes it hard to hold up properly to read to LO).All in all, this book is not bad. But because it's a book, I was expecting a more decent story. Given that the story is so basic, I think this is more suitable for babies under 12 months (4-6mo for the sensory stuff, 6-12mo for the story).

Good starter book
I love the Lamaze toys and have bought several of the different varieties. Each is great and interactive for baby to play with and learn at the same time. They are well made, hold up well, come with rings to easily attach to strollers/car seats. I would recommend several of these toys to any parents with young babies. This book is adorable and contains many features to entertain baby. I wish it was machine washable, but other than that am extremely pleased with this purchase. I would highly recommend this toy!

Multi-sensory cloth book for younger babies
Bought this for our daughter when she was 4 months old. At the time, she loved the crinkly sounds the front and back pages make. I tried to get her to feel the different textures on each page (normal cloth, smooth satiny, textured felt etc.), but she really just preferred to chew and suck on corners of the book and ribbon material for the sun rays. Since this is a wordless cloth book, you can make up your own story as you flip the 4 flaps, including covers, that show different animals with scenery (every second page is a blow-up pic of what you see on the previous page, eg. blue bird on the moose, fish in the river, star in the sky). There's a squeak in the blue bird and a rattle in the fish. It also comes with a big round clip for attaching to a stroller or car seat. I sometimes hook it around the cot slat, to prevent it from being flung out by our baby. It is a well-constructed book in terms of durability and is washable. I took a star off because our daughter is now 13 months old and has barely shown any interest in the cloth book in the last 3 months. She definitely likes real books a lot more. While it is not likely a toy that will grow with your child, it is still good value for the purpose it served.

Quiet Book
This is such an adorable little quite book. There aren’t any words or anything to read. Just a sweet little unicorn and nice textures throughout. I also like the clip on the book so it can be clipped to the diaper bag to take along or used with a toy clip to clip to the stroller or bouncer so she can’t toss it on the floor.
