Great read!
This book was a great read. Lilys writing was emotive and enlightening. I loved her music before but this book helped me understand her as a person. Thanks for sharing your trials, tribulations, milestones and successes with us!

Raw and honest
I only came across Lily Allen as a singer a few years ago (love her music), and I live in Asia, so I missed all the fame and tabloid gossip she went through in the mid-late 2000s in the UK. I had no idea what ups and downs she went through at such a relatively young age. Her book is raw and brutally honest. Definitely worth a read. (I read 80% in one day.)

Candid and raw memoir
I loved this book. As a fan of Lily Allan's music I was excited to read about her life. I applaud her for her honesty and candor in sharing all the details of her life, both flattering and not. I found her very interesting and greatly enjoyed her insights on the music business. I left the book with more respect and love for her than ever before.

The real Lily Allen
So much to unpack, I have major respect for the honesty and the chapter about the music industry, I want to know more! Name and shame them predators Lily. I enjoyed reading about the start of her career, young and determined.

Amazing
Absolutely brilliant Lily. Thank you for talking about codependency so candidly, it's really refreshing to hear so much honesty and reflection. Best read in awhile!

Lily Allen is talented, shameless and fearless.
This book can be depressing and hilarious at times. It’s also refreshing to read a young lady taking ownership of her own faults in her very unapologetic and authentic way, with surgical self-awareness. Lily Allen is talented, shameless and fearless. Go girl!

In afraid boring repetitive, do not recommend.
Not very often I regret paying for a book but boy this one...!!!! I regretted every penny after the first chapter! I'm not sure why this is a best seller??!? Probably because it has Lily Allen on the cover and obviously because of her so called "controversial life" she has managed to make people believe this book will "tell all"!!! And then of course you buy into it and buy the book. In fairness to her, she has stated in all of her interviews promoting this book that she is far too young and, hasn't had a very "interesting life" (my words here) to write a biography.. And boyyyyy how right she is!!I would go as far as to say that her life has pretty much been an illusion for all of us or just as ordinary as everybody else's. The impression I have been left with is that the press did a very good job of making her life look very interesting when in reality she was just a normal teenager and eventually an adult, mother and wife. For whoever is thinking about buying the book, there won't be any bomb tale, or any surprises, or anything that we didn't know or suspect happened to her, sadly.Another thing I detested about this book, hence didn't finish it, was the me, me, me.. poor me, people always doing me wrong, I'm so naive, ok ok I may be wrong but I'm still the one hard done by. I cry all day long but at the same time I'm strong, I do it all. The book is so self servicing it's comical. And quite frankly boring. I suppose she tried so hard to make the reading fun, young, casual, relateable, somewhat light hearted that it became boring and repetitive. I have never liked her music and don't think she is talented at all and I think deep down she knows it, even though she wants to believe she is, but because the book had good reviews and it is the "controversial Lily Allen" I truly believed I was gonna be shocked or surprised while reading this book. However, I don't recommend it and don't relate to it unlike lots of people reviewing it said they did. I do believe as she states in some point in the book that money is no longer what it used to be, therefore, in my opinion, writing a book was the next thing in order to keep up her life style. One thing I can give to her is that she was a brave girl and made what she could to get somewhere in life even if it was kinda short lived as it often is in this business if you are not talented enough. One other thing is that she says that she and other people never thought she was pretty which I completely disagree with as I've always thought she is very pretty in her unique way and very stylish! Perhaps fashion would have been her pathway despite her failures in business with her sister, which she touches in the book. Unfortunately I haven't enjoyed it. So much so that I couldn't finish it so boring it got. Sorry Lily Allen but I don't think it was the right time for this.

Gone from like to dislike!
Oh no! She’s led such a privileged life but she shows no awareness about this. She comes across as a self entitled, lazy brat. The common theme is self pity and blaming others. Through her tough times she chooses drugs and self pity repeatedly. Time to own up to your mistakes and take control.

An incredibly fascinating and emotional story!
This was absolutely an fascinating story told in such a way you feel like it’s catching up with an old friend, and each of you ranting over a bottle of wine (in a non creepy way!). The way she talks about loneliness and alcohol is totally relatable. She is just a girl with a dream who went after it, giving it everything she got along the way, and dealing with the stuff that got thrown at her, or men who took advantage of her in the way you learn to deal with things as you grow up. I feel like she could write and write and I’d always want to know more. Well done Lilly!

Just read it. You’ll be glad you did!
I downloaded the audio version of this so I can listen on my way to work. I found myself getting there but I couldn’t get out of the car. It was just so hard to stop listening so I found myself reading parts through the day.Lily tells it as it is and doesn’t hold back, I love this attitude in a biography as you really feel that it’s real.I’ve had every emotion with this book, it is truly compelling. Lily Allen puts everything out there for us to read (or listen to!) even the heartbreaking times in her life, I can’t help wanting to reach out at points and hug her, and just tell her ‘it’s ok’ - that is how much she draws you in, or maybe it’s just because I can relate to her childhood and know what that feels like. From this book, I can see that lily Alen is incredibly intellectual, funny, talented and has a huge heart. Excellent read (or listen!) Even if you are not a fan of Lily’s Music, read this book - it’s inspiring.

I couldn’t put it down
Much to my dissapointment I finished this book after 2 days! I wanted it to keep going forever!I wasn’t the most popular person with my other half as I neglected my housework this weekend because I had to keep reading chapter after chapter.I’m not usually one to read autobiographies, I’ve always felt that the person only puts out what they want you to read. With Lily there is definitely no holding back and whilst some may find her crude or graphic at times, I feel you can’t get a true picture of what she has been through without her way of writing.I’ve always suspected that the media are a bunch of vultures and this solidified that notion.I hope Lily is finally at peace with who she is as a person now.
