Packtowl Original Superabsorbent Towel (2015 Model), Small, Blue

As it's too cold for me to do any camping, I tried this out of the shower. If you can imagine a normal cotton towel as drying you to %99 with the remaining 1% evaporated off - this thing seems to do about 85% drying/absorbing, with the remaining moisture spread out on the skin to dry quickly. I liken it to the way a chamois dries a car and spreads the rest out to be evaporated off.In short, seems great for camping, comes in a breathable pouch and has a tag you can attach to a tree or bag. Seems to wring fairly dry as well.

Honestly, when I opened the package for this towel, I literally thought to myself, "What the-? Did I just buy a piece of felt?! This is nothing like my REI MultiTowel Lite!"I decided to give this thing a try instead of just returning it. So I hand washed it and wrung it dry. Apparently, I didn't wring it very well because it was still super damp - totally not useable, had to hang dry it overnight because it was dry enough to use. I initially planned to use this towel for yoga since I sweat buckets in yoga so I will have to see how well this "towel" does.

OK, work fine, but don't fully knock my socks off.

I had been looking for a good travel towel and purchased the largest packtowl. After testing it for a week at home, I knew I made the correct purchase. Now I never travel without the large packtowel. I decided to purchase the smallest packtowel to replace a standard towel for exercising. Again I made the correct purchase and use it several times a week. To clean it, I just rinse in warm water, wring and repeat a few times. To dry it, I only need to hang it from a hook and within 12 hours it's completely dry and ready for use.

Small, rough towel. Not what was expected.

When you do your laundry on the road, you wrap your wet clothes in a towel and squeeze out as much water as possible before hanging them to dry. As a result, you end up with a room full of soggy towels. This towel wrings out almost dry and can then be used on the next item. I consider it an inseparable partner to my braided rubber clothesline.

Absorbent. A lifesaver on the trail.
