SeaLux Marine Boat Steering Wheel Turning/Control Knob/Suicide Knob -1-1/2" Grip knob Small Size - 316 Marine Stainless Steel

The knob arrived on time and as expected. Installation was uneventful and it looked ok on the boat. However, maybe I got a defective one, but when I turn the wheel the knob handle seems to catch on the nut that is just below it for fastening. This creates a clicking noise and a sort of grabbing, so it does not turn smoothly. I have checked knobs on my buddy's boats and they all turn smoothly. I was going to buy another for my second boat, but might try another brand to see if it was just a defective unit. The unit does operate smoothly if I pull up slightly on the knob, however this is not practical when parking or in tight maneuvers.

Bad design. The clasp that clamps it to the wheel cut my knuckles.
