Works great!
I used this tool to swap out the heavy factory spring on a Honda CBR1000 shock to a lighter one. This tool did the job beautifully. It did not slip or bend and is still in perfect functioning order. I used an impact gun so I would not be putting heavy side loads on the tool to help prevent any slippage. This was not the cheapest tool like this on Amazon but appeared to be the most heavy duty and it did not disappoint.

Product Failed Miserably
I don't now what kind of springs this tool was made for but it wouldn't compress a mono shock off of a Honda XL250Started out using a socket and ratchet until I couldn't tighten it by hand any more. Put an impact wrench on it at that point. The tool twisted and bent and never compressed the spring enough to remove the nut.I do not recommend this lightweight tool for heavy duty motorcycle springs. Have photos of the twisted broken tools but I don't see where I can upload them for this product.

Eye protection is a must.
It twisted and came apart in a startling fashion trying to use it on a Ohlin's rear shock on an '03 YZF-R6. Eye protection is a must. I ended up reassembling it, twist it back as best I could and then put it in my vice to keep it together. I wasn't able to compress the spring enough to remove the collar since I couldn't get more coils of the sping but I was able to adjust the preload anyways. It will leave marks on the coils but it's a track bike so I didn't care.

Worked OK
Worked OK for the pair of shocks I had to do but fairly light weight and the outer housing twisted on both under the stress. Consider them functional but disposable.

I think it works fine, the C-clip on one slipped out of its slot, but is easy to fix. 2001 xr100r/BBR upgrade.

Just like the other reviewers above
If I could rate this peice of junk 0 stars I would. Just like the other reviewers above, this junk twisted and popped off the spring before I could compress the spring enough. Klr650 so it's a weak spring and it couldn't even handle that. I know how to use spring compressors, changed more springs than I can count. Lucky this didn't kill someone. DO NOT BUY!!!!!

Two Stars
Didn't seem to compress my spring, marred the powder coating on my springs.
