This is a must have for anyone wishing to have a timer controlled sprinkler. It works great!
This is a great solution for anyone that doesn’t have an underground sprinkler system but still wants to have a sprinkler that is time controlled. It’s very easy to program and makes it easy to setup your sprinkler on a schedule. I ve had it for several years now and have had no issues. I recommend it to anyone looking for a similar option to. ORBIT - SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT
EDIT: 07/06/2020 Well, the 3rd 3 outlet Orbit Timer bit the dust this morning. Or rather, I noticed it for the first time. I'm not sure how long the water has been running on station 3. It was just continuous. There was a small pond among the trees we were trying to water towards the road. The brush hide the constant flow. I can't tell you how disgusted I am with these timers. When will ORBIT step up to the plate and realize they're manufacturing a defective product?? END OF EDIT. These timers are easy to attach, easy to program and easy to manually control. We've been using Orbit timers for a few years now. In May of 2015, we bought 2 Orbit 3-outlet timers for the first time, model 56082 from Amazon. We bought another 3-outlet Orbit timer, as well as 2 single outlet Orbit timers locally. Five timers in all: 3 of the 3-outlet times and 2 of the 1-outlet timers. Then in May of 2017, we bought another 3-outlet timer from Amazon to replace one that had stopped working. And in May of 2018, we bought another single outlet timer from Amazon to replace one that had stopped working. It never occurred to us to seek a replacement or refund from Orbit, because they did work for us for awhile, even watering everything on our property while we vacationed. We were impressed. And we were not aware that they had a 6 year warranty. Last year we unhooked all of our perfectly functioning Orbit timers, removed the batteries, cleaned them, and put them in storage, like we always do. This year, we pulled them out, put in new batteries, and attempted to program them for watering. To our consternation, we discovered that none of the 3-outlet timers would program correctly, would not turn off even when we switched them to off and would not respond to manual control. An outlet might work or...it might not. It was just random what these timers would do. They're designed to run one station at a time, but the first one wouldn't turn off, but the second one would begin, so that 2 outlets were running at the same time on the same timer and they would not shut off unless we turned the water off. And one of the single timers did that same thing [not responding to the programming]. Now we couldn't trust any of them to do our watering and/or function correctly. We have a water well and the possibility of these things coming on and staying on while we're on vacation or otherwise gone for a few days runs the risk of flooding our watering areas and/or ruining our very expensive water well. So, we decided to buy all new Orbit timers to replace all of the non-working ones. On June 22, 2020, we ordered from Amazon 3 brand-spanking new 3-port timers, model 56082, as well as 2 brand-spanking new single port timers, model 62061Z to the tune of $290. Five brand-new timers in all. They arrived on the 25th and 26th of June, 2020. On the 27th, we put new batteries in, programmed them, attached them to the water faucets, connected the water hoses to each outlet and thought we were good to go. The next morning, on the 28th, imagine our surprise to wake up and see 2 of the brand-spanking new 3-port timers had not shut off and would not respond to turning the timers off. We had to shut the water faucets off. The other 3-port timer looked like it hadn't watered from outlet 2, so we tried doing it manually, but it wouldn't respond to a manual command. We always water in the wee hours of the morning before the sun comes up. The watering is always finished before daylight. Anyway... So, we took the timers off the faucets, took the battery packs out, allowed the memory to clear, reinstalled the batteries, reprogrammed them and reinstalled them. We ran tests through all the cycles, setting each outlet at 2 minute intervals. They worked. Then we cycled through all outlets to see if they would respond to manual control and all seemed well, giving us hope that they were going to function correctly. The following morning, the 29th, we woke to the same problem on 2 of the 3-outlet timers. Not one to give up easily, I ran them [my husband had already given up] through multiple tests, removing and reinserting the batteries, reprogramming and testing ad nauseam. Finally, I gave up too and decided to send these two 3-outlet timers back. UPS is scheduled to pick them up today, the 30th of June, 2020. These were brand-new and defective right out of the box. We are so disappointed in the compromised quality of these Orbit timers. At the first inkling that these things were defection, we should have re-boxed them all and sent them all back immediately. As of now, we're returning 2 of the 3-outlet timers. And we're going to be vigilantly aware of the performance of the ones we're keeping. If there's even a hint that one functions incorrectly, it's going back immediately. What has happened to the integrity of companies that are mass producing defective products? It's just all about the bottom line -- $$$. And there are probably multitudes of buyers unaware of Orbits 6 year warranty and just end ups trashing them. Should not companies be accountable for their defective products? I think so. We weren't aware that these timers have a 6 year warranty or exactly what that warranty covered. Perhaps companies like Orbit count on the ignorance of its customers. Orbit needs to be on top of all these negative comments. Now we're hesitant to order replacements and we do not, as of right now, recommend them to anyone.

Met my irrigation needs
I purchased the item last year in May and have had enough time with it to give it a review but product stopped working before warranty period expired. Item was received in a timely manner when purchased. I had no issues with packaging and item was new. Product worked as intend per manufacturer's descriptions. I found the manual mode so helpful especially on hot days. Product included instructions (English and Spanish) for setup but had minimal for troubleshooting although it does provide phone numbers for calling, texting and emailing the company with questions/ issues with product. I found the online website helpful when attempting to solve my timer not working properly. Here is my issue after having the item for 10 months. I started seeing a low battery display icon on the bottom right lower corner and did what anyone would. After replacing with new battery multiple times I decided to contact Orbit and see if they had any solutions for the blinking low battery indicator. They were unable to determine they problem so they sent me a new one since I was still covered under their warranty. After receiving they new timer I decided to open the faulty timer and determine why it would just not work. Upon taking out a few screws and removing a silicone seal, I was able to access the circuit board and saw that at bottom of it it had corroded. A capacitor was completely corroded and seemed to have cause the issue. It appeared moisture had some how leaked into the unit and caused some kind of short. I do remember did find a bit of moisture on the battery compartment right before issue started to occur. I am kinda curious to see if this has happened to anyone else. Overall product worked great, I removed unit from water line any time the weather showed it below freezing and ensured that the inlet filter was always clean. I had no issues getting a replacement since I was under warrant and for now I gave the product 4 stars. Packaging: 5/5 Setup: 5/5 Price 5/5 Battery life: 5/5 Durability: 3/5 Quality: 4/5

Perfect performance for 2 years THEN TOTAL FAILURE--ADDENDUM!
I purchased model 62061N in May of 2018. It performed flawlessly during the summers of 2018 and 2019 here in the Boston area. This spring--2020--it started the growing season flawlessly as well, but its electronics failed in July, 2020. The symptoms included total loss of the display (except for momentary display of all segment when the batteries were fresh and the RESET button was pushed) and absence of response when the function dial was turned or the 3 buttons were pushed. A search of the Amazon site for warranty information failed because the warranty PDF was "corrupt." The Orbit website specified the warranty period is only 1 year and has made communications difficult so far. A Google search for help/experiences/ideas from others addressed other problems with the unit--though one utube video had the owner smahing the unit to bits! Total disassembly showed no corrosion or water damage with all parts appearing perfect. (Recall that the screen also displayed all segments on RESET.) My only recourse--because I NEED a watering timer--is to change brands and hope for the best. A little research yielded an email address for Orbit. I wrote the company with all the detail I could muster and almost immediately received a courteous--and very HUMAN--response. The customer service rep asked a few questions then referred me to a supervisor who then wrote me to say: 1)he was authorizing the shipment of the closest current model of the broken watering timer, and 2) he asked that I return the TOTALLY DISASSEMBLED broken unit in a pre-paid envelope that would be included with the replacement unit. I don't think that customer service can get much better than that, so I've raised my rating to 5 stars. One more thing: I ordered a new watering timer branded Rain Bird 1ZEHTMR, after examining many pictures online. I was looking for a unit that did NOT have the same internal workings, since I had earlier judged them to be problematic. The Rain Bird I ordered has a different external PHYSICAL appearance, but when I received it, on 8/10/20, I realized that it is virtually the same as the broken Orbit unit INTERNALLY.

Essential for watering during extreme drought and heat.
I have used these before in a mechanical variant. The summer of 2025 taught me that my tomato plants needed even more flexibility. This unit was the answer. There are a variety of clever options that allow you to set it up to water when you want, as often as you want and in the quantity you want. It is also simple to turn water on instantly when needed without removing the unit. I have a soaker hose routed around my tomato plants and use the timer to supply them a fresh drink every morning and evening. You could set it to more or less frequently if you like. It's also very easy to make changes if you have changing weather conditions or just witness that the plants need more or less. Also works great for new sod or over seeding grass in the fall.

Great product
These are great. The batteries last all season and still have usable charge. I have some of these that are 4-5 years old and still working fine. The only issue I have had is some brands of batteries corroding inside of my electronics so keep an eye on that.
