Pretty good product
I've used it for several hours of tilling and it has worked very well. For me, it's a great alternative to buying/renting a tiller. I have Poulan Pro P335 (33cc) and it has ample power for this attachment. I'm sure a lower power head would still work great.Be aware that I have quite sandy soil so tilling is much easier. A more clay based soil would be much more challenging. Tilling heavier soil would be more a factor of your strength and stamina than your power head. Keep in mind that the weight of this unit is still quite light and requires a lot more physical strength for deep tilling. This is not a fault of the unit, however, just something you should be aware.

It's the Clutch
I bought this cultivator to go with my Poulan PPB3300R weedeater. After 5 minutes of tilling, the weedeater would run but it wouldn't turn the cultivator anymore. I found other reviews and comments about this problem. The cultivator attachment requires much more power to operate than a weedeater trimming attachment or an edger. Internet research led me to believe I had a bad clutch in the weedeater. Some people may be referring to this problem as a "stripped shaft". I replaced the clutch myself, and it now works again. Some things to know1. The clutch is centrifugal, and operates by slinging itself to the outside of the shaft cylinder. Centrifugal motion holds the clutch flat against the outside of the cylinder and the friction and interference between the clutch and the cylinder provide the drive that forces the shaft to spin. If the clutch is worn, it won't have enough friction against the shaft cylinder and will spin in place instead of driving the shaft (the reason some people may have thought their shaft was stripped).2. The clutch part is inexpensive and moderately easy to replace (30 min. to 2 hour depending on your mechanical aptitude?). Here's the instructions I used: Amazon delted the website in the original review, but google a website to repair the clutch in a weedeater. A couple of different websites should come up.3. If you decide to change the clutch yourself, you can order it for less than $10. Go to Ordertree.com to look up your model weedeater, and the part numbers for the clutch assembly.4. I like the cultivator, but it's heavy. I'm 225 lbs and in good shape and i can't imagine my wife at 130 using this long and effectively. .5. I'm giving the cultivator 3 stars. Minus 1 because the clutch problem is pervasive and I'm sure the manufacturers know about the problem, but haven't published what the problem is or how to fix it. Minus 1 for the manufacturer not emphasizing the weight and expectations for using. The weight itself is not especially heavy by itself, but when you are picking it up and moving it about at the end of a 3 or 4 foot pole (weedeater), your back will feel it over time. Much more so than a trimmer attachment.

Best bang for the buck
I bought this cultivator not expecting much really. How well could this little thing do anyway right? I was surprised. I connected this to my Poulan Pro 33cc trimmer and went to work. I tore up hard dirt with grass grown over. The first pass took it down about 4 inches or so the second pass was all I needed. It will sink down on its own then slowly walk backward and its as simple as that. Very happy with this product and I don't think you get can a better deal.I thought I'd do a follow up...two years after I wrote this review, I'm still using this same cultivator attachment and it is still working just as it did out of the box. DURABLE

Work fairly well!
For a trimmer attachment, this works pretty well. It does get bound up and clogged with things like tree roots and rocks, but works very well if you can avoid things like that. For the first couple years, our garden was mostly clay and the attachment didnt work very well. You first had to turn the soil with a shovel, then you could till it to a finer soil. Now days, the soil is not so much clay, and the tiller will do all the work. I have had this for 5 or 6 years will no mechanical issues.

Great little cultivator
We've had this attachment over a year and have been quite happy with it. It's a different brand than my trimmer but that didn't matter. I've used it to break new ground when expanding a flower bed and it works well. I've also dug up an area behind my garage that contains buried pieces of brick and lots of roots. That is really more than this little guy was designed for but it keeps digging away. I particularly like the idea that I only need one powerhead to run multiple tools. I'm thinking of getting one of the edger attachments next!

good tool for the garden
I think that the poulan cultivator works very good in the garden. I bought mine and it did a great job loosening up the soil for planting and works good for running between rows chopping up any weeds that are growing. Don't fool yourself though, this is not a heavy duty rototiller. Your not going to turn up your whole yard and replant the grass! I have a 20 x 80 foot garden an it works great, however I originally put this garden in with a rototiller.
