MANHATTAN Desktop Hi-Speed 2.0 USB Hub

I've been searching for a while with a USB hub with a larger power adapter to power multiple devices which pull alot of amps. This is the best one I've found so far. It includes a 4 amp power adapter, and I've noticed that if you plug too many devices into it and attempt to over-draw power, the unit has a failsafe mechanism to prevent damage to your PC or other components.This usb hub has the best power management of any I've used (I've tried almost every brand so far, saitechi, belkin, rosewill, plugable, etc.Also, the user complaining about this hub not charging his ipad doesn't understand how USB charging works. You have to have 5 volts on the data pins for USB to charge iDevices. No USB hub will have this b/c they're not designed for it. Thus, you must plug the hub into a PC to have it charge an iDevice. I can confirm that this hub DOES power iPads and other iDevices when plugged into the wall and into a PC.

I purchased this to replace a smaller hub since my computer devices keep growing. This Hi Speed USB provides 13 ports and is small enough to fit on your desk and not get in the way of doing work. Provides a fast and reliable connect for your USB devices. Attach a power supply and you can even attach your power hungry USB devices to this. I am happy that I purchased this USB Desktop Hub. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a small but great expansion hub!

I needed to expand the number of USB ports. Instead of snaking cables from my monitors, router, and the front of my PC, I wanted to have a single place for my USB cords. This device looked like a reasonable solution to my problem. I plugged it into my computer and then plugged my cords into it. It worked. Expectations met. If you need a 13-port hub, I would recommend this one.

I have so many usb devices I'd love to use at once. Speaker, cooling fan, keyboard, mouse, docking station etc. You can see why I thought this would be perfect for me. However when I plug my speaker into the hub, ingame the speaker shuts down which means I have to restart the game. This never happens when the speaker is connected directly to the laptop. Same with the docking station.This is annoying and hope it gets fixed.

The hub works very well, with one minor quibble, which is also the reason for 4 stars only: With my iPad Mini hooked up to the desktop for any length, it will only maintain the existing battery charge of the tablet, it won't recharge it.

I brought this product and it took a while for them to ship it. I was getting ready to request a refund. However, the next day the shipment show up. The device works the way it suppose to work. I am able to plug in all of my extra devices and not have any problems with my accessories. Thanks

So far it works great for some items but not all that need to be directly connected to the CPU - apparently it is the association with the motherboard specifics and program authorizations

It says it has a 4Amp power supply, which it does. But I was hopeful this would translate into the ability to charge the iPad. It does not. You still have to plug it in directly to the computer or to the wall charger to get a charge. We need a usb hub that can charge the iPad and other high power devices.BB

Hab das Teil angeschlossen und es funktioniert einwandfrei.Es wird vom PC sofort erkannt und ist einsatzbereit.Mit 13 Ports ist man bestens ausgestattet.Allerdings dachte ich ,das Netzteil waere nur noetig wenn die Stomversorgung des angeschlossenen Geraetes hoeher istals der PC liefern kann.Und so steht es in der Gebrauchsanleitung:Ist zusaetzliche Stromversorgung noetig,verwenden Sie das beiliegende Netzteil.Pustekuchen.Ist kein Netzteil angeschlossen,gehr gar nichts.Das kostet einen Stern.Dann noch ein Abstrich:Meine Audiointerfaces,also Wandler analoger Musik zu Digital,funktionieren nicht.Ich habe mehrere Modelle die alle nicht funktionieren.Diese muss ich direkt am PC anschliessen.Also noch ein Stern weniger.Im Gegensatz dazu funktionieren Midiinterfaces tadelos.Nachtrag:Ich habe jetz festgestellt,dass das Problem mit den Audiofaces an meinem PC liegt.Komischerweise funktionieren die Audiointerfaces jetzt,aber nur mit den USB-Buchsen auf der Computervorderseite.Daher habe ich ein Stern hinzugefügt.

Der Anspruch war ein Hub, der sowohl robust ist (also auch über Monate hinweg im Dauerbetrieb ist und nicht interne Macken zeigt, die mit "mach mal aus und wieder an" angegangen werden), als auch viele (deutlich mehr als 4 und bestenfalls auch mehr als 8) Ports bietet. Das engt die Auswahl stark ein. Hab mich von den Bewertungen hier leiten lassen und wurde seit 1,5 Jahren nicht enttäuscht - habe mir sogar inzwischen einen zweiten gekauft.Habe viele USB-Geräte (meist Festplatten), die zwar nie alle gleichzeitig in Betrieb sind, aber es in Ausnahmefällen sein könnten. Tatsächlich sollen aber all ihre USB-Kabel nicht ständig ab- und angestöpselt werden, sondern möglichst einmalig gelegt werden und dann so verbleiben. Und das kann ich hiermit hervorragend lösen. Alle 17 Ports funktionieren 1A - keine Verarsche von wegen viele Ports und nur die Hälfte davon gleichzeitig benutzbar, nein - selbst im Extremfall (alle 17 Ports in aktiver Benutzung) funktioniert der Hub tadellos (was dann für Übertragungsraten bei 17 Geräten gleichzeitig herrschen ist ein anderes Thema - dass es hier um USB 2.0 geht war mir von Anfang an bewusst und auch nie entscheidend).Ein Minimanko ist das sehr helle blaue LED, was dann fast schon ein Nachtlicht ist. Aber gegen sowas behelf ich mir immer mit einem Euro-Cent-Stück, dass ich entweder drauflege oder -klebe.Das Gerät ist sein Geld definitiv wert und für angeschlossene Geräte, deren Position sich eh nicht mehr ändern wird kann man so alle auf einmal anschließen. Vergesst diese kleinen und billigeren Hubs, egal ob mit oder ohne eigene Stromversorgung - möchte den Kunden kennenlernen, der den Kauf dieses Produkts jemals bereut.

Um eine große Zahl von Peripheriegeräten (Drucker, externe Festplatte, externes DVD-Laufwerk, Infrarotadapter, Maus, Tastatur, Bluetooth-Stick, Smartphonebasisstation) für mein Subnotebook zugänglich zu machen brauche ich ein USB-Hub mit vielen Anschlüssen.Zwei USB-Hubs hatte ich bereits in Verwendung, bei deren Verwendung es oft "Aussetzer" bei der Erkennung von Geräten gab. Beide gingen recht schnell kaputt und der Stecker für die Stromversorgung war so locker, dass er schnell rausrutschte und dann die Peripherie ohne Strom zurücklies.Keines dieser Probleme besteht mit dem Manhatten Hub. Alle Geräte werden stets erkannt, keines wird zwischendurch "rausgeworfen" die Datentransfers laufen mit max. USB 2.0 Geschwindigkeit und ein großes Plus ist die starke Stromversorgung mit 4A, sodass immer genug Strom für Geräte ohne eigenen Transformator (wie die Festplatte und das DVD-Laufwerk vorhanden ist). Das Gerät selbst sieht ansprechend aus, liegt gut auf dem Tisch und die Anschlüsse sind alle gut zugänglich.Absolut empfehlenswert.

Seit nunmehr Januar 2012 habe ich diesen HUB in Gebrauch.Erst an einem SONY VAIO und nun an einem ASUS-Laptop. Der HUB funktioniert vom ersten Tag an ohne Probleme.Angeschlossen sind dauerhaft eine externe HDD (erst USB 2.0, jetzt USB 3.0) und sporadisch verschiedene USB-Sticks, außerdem lade ich problemlos über den HUB meinen E-Book-Reader.Nun hoffe ich mal, dass ich einen qualitativ gleichwertigen HUB für USB 3.0 finde.Von mir eine Kaufempfehlung.
