Not a silver bullet, but it works
I wore this on my motorcycle on a 100 F day riding in northern Oregon / southern Washington (Portland to Klickitat Canyon and back, to be specific). I mention this because even on hot days the humidity in this area seldom dips below 50%, which probably affects this vest's cooling abilities.- It worked to keep me a little cooler, but not startlingly so. It was enough that I noticed that I felt a little cooler than riding without it, but it wasn't a "ahh, what miraculous cooling" experience. Again, I think if the humidity had been lower the vest would've probably worked better.- On a day this hot, riding the freeway at 70 mph, the water in the vest was pretty much gone in 30 or 40 minutes. Then the problem was that the now-dry vest became an insulator instead of a cooler, and I felt even hotter.- The good news was that even with the vest fully soaked, it didn't dribble onto my pants. The magic water-holding stuff in the vest (I'm guessing it's like the water-holding stuff in baby diapers) works really well. The shirt I was wearing under the vest was damp, of course, but would've been even if I hadn't worn the vest (sweaty).Bottom line: good but not great, at least for motorcycle use in my part of the country. It might work better in drier climates, e.g., the intermountain West, midwest, etc.

Watch the size carefully.
Don’t know why warmth is a ratings consideration, this is a cooling vest! The side zipper is too small for this vest in larger sizes. I would prefer more side material and no zipper. A oral slip over. The cooling material is thick enough. The backing martial is too thick though, a lighter, flo thru, yet still durable material would be better. I wore this on a 105 day in Nevada on my BMW. It was dry in 35 minutes @80 mph on the freeway. But I was comfy cool! It made a 150 mile round trip easy. It requires stopping and rewetting, which can be a creative process, lol. Where they get these estimated long hours of cooling is beyond me. However, in this kind of heat, they help enormously! I also have the vest style, which is easier to rewet and put back on. The other style vest has no tiny zipper. I Just soak in a plastic bag on the side of the road and wring out. Put it back on and ride. I hope they will make these in 4X and 5X for larger riders, and ladies with full bosoms. They really work in a hot and DRY climate. Recommended.

Not good for local city riding
Works really well for the first hour in mid 90's temperatures while staying on the move at highway speeds. Works ok for the next half hour. Needs re soaked with water at the 1.5 hour mark.Overall it makes riding long distance in miserable heat bearable and even somewhat pleasant. You must have airlflow, mesh riding gear for this to work. Must be on the move. Not good for local city riding.

Great concept, not the best construction
My boyfriend works outdoors in a very hot climate, so I bought him this for his birthday. The material is fabulous and very functional, and it fit him well, but unfortunately the zipper broke after two washes. He still uses it but it kind of just hangs now.

Cool
5'7" female, slender build. The small is not long enough. It does work to keep you cold I just should have gotten a medium. I put it on after two + hours riding dirt bike in the desert.

the best thing I've bought for my cycling
the best thing I've bought for my cycling. I let it souk in cold water for about 5 minutes. I've worn in when it was 98 degrees out with high humidity.I wear it under my cycling jersey and I actually get cold during my ride it works that good.

Very pleasantly surprised
Bought one for my wife and myself. We live in California in the desert. Temperatures in summer up to 115 degrees. We rode in 95 degrees and the vest worked better than we could of hoped for. Made a significant differences in keeping us cooler.
